We took our cat in for a vaccination but he started throwing up the next day. I called the vet again and they immediately called me in. The vet who saw our cat the second time was absolutely lovely, so experienced and efficient. She gave our cat another injection to calm his tummy, checked his temperature and had another wonderful vet helping as they both stroked and kept my cat calm. Brilliant service and very polite and friendly team! Only objection is that we paid £89 for the vaccination and brief checkup and then another £69 for the second injection plus some food sachets to calm his tummy. Overall, it's quite expensive but at least, the service was wonderful!

This is a very overdue review, but I have wanted to share how grateful I am to the team at Medivet for the care they provided to my cat during an emergency. After months of treatment elsewhere, my cat's condition had deteriorated to the point where a bone on his front paw was exposed as a result of an infection. He was clearly in severe pain, yet we felt we were not getting the urgency, clarity, or treatment he desperately needed. As pet owners, it was heartbreaking to watch him suffer. From the moment we arrived at Medivet, the team immediately recognised how much pain he was in and acted quickly. They showed genuine compassion for both my cat and us as owners, taking the time to explain everything clearly, including the available treatment options, procedures, and costs. There were no surprises, no pressure, and no unnecessary treatments—just honest, professional advice focused on what was best for our pet. While another practice had suggested that amputation of his entire front leg might be necessary, the Medivet team carefully assessed him and recommended surgery to remove only the affected digit. Although it was upsetting that his condition had reached that stage, they explained why this was the best course of action and gave us confidence that he was receiving the care he needed. They also kept him overnight to ensure he was properly monitored and comfortable during his recovery. I cannot emphasise enough how attentive, compassionate, and professional the entire team was. Seeing your pet in immense pain is one of the most stressful experiences an owner can go through, and Medivet truly went above and beyond to help us when we felt helpless. Thank you to everyone involved in my cat's care. Your kindness, expertise, and dedication made an incredibly difficult situation much easier to navigate. I would not hesitate to recommend Medivet to any pet owner looking for a veterinary practice that genuinely puts animal welfare first. This is a very overdue review, but I have wanted to share how grateful I am to the team at Medivet for the care they provided to my cat during an emergency. I’m very disappointed with my experience at Medivet Muswell Hill. I brought my dachshund Rosie in after she appeared uncomfortable at home, however by the time we arrived at the practice she seemed much improved and was moving around normally. She was diagnosed with suspected IVDD and prescribed meloxicam. Shortly afterwards, Rosie became extremely unwell with severe gastrointestinal symptoms and required several days of hospitalisation. Her discharge notes stated the episode was suspected to be secondary to meloxicam administration. What concerned me most was that subsequent examinations by both another Medivet vet and a separate veterinary practice did not identify any spinal problem. I appreciate that adverse reactions can happen and I’m grateful for the care Rosie received once hospitalised, however I remain concerned that medication with known gastrointestinal risks was prescribed too quickly without a more cautious “monitor and review” approach first being considered. I was also disappointed by the response to my complaint and did not feel that the seriousness of the situation or the impact it had on me was properly acknowledged. The compensation offered was minimal considering the circumstances and ongoing financial impact following the insurance claim. Sadly, the overall experience caused me to lose confidence in the practice and I have since transferred Rosie’s care elsewhere.
