We had a really good experience here for my Ragdoll cat, Miso. They managed to fit her in very quickly after seeing her, as she needed her canine removed. The procedure went well and she recovered smoothly. We felt she was in safe hands the whole time! Cheryl, the owner, was great and took us through everything. Everything felt straightforward and the staff are all so lovely too! It was also much cheaper than the quotes we’d had from our local vets, which we really appreciated. Thank you again for taking such good care of Miso. Would definitely recommend.
Read on Google →Unfortunately I feel professional engagement has declined over the last couple of years. Whilst the front office remains helpful the vets appear to be pushing more expensive options onto the owner. This would appear to be in line with other vets in the area. During my last couple of visits I felt the vets had been more interested in touting for extra work than animal welfare. I do not say this lightly because I'm sure few go into the game for the financial gain but commercial pressure seems to be winning.
Read on Google →They say that you can judge how good a service is by how a company responds when things go wrong. The response from the owner could be described as poor at best. we stayed with vets 4pets for 4 years. Pretty happy for most of that , but we also don’t know any better, our first dog , nothing to compare. Our dog has lots of allergies and usually gets apoquel , so we ordered a prescription and they changed it to say apoquel chewable. So we duly purchased this not knowing the difference. Then spotted it contained pork liver, which he is allergic to. Went back , initially they agreed to change them , we had purchased on line and the on line pharmacists wouldn’t accept the return. When we queried we were told that “oh they are phasing the tablets you usually get out, these are the ones you will get going foreward” , by Cheryl the owner of this branch. Three weeks later saw another vet and had a look on Google. Pressed her that he was allergic to this and she took it seriously, they gave us a new prescription and 10 of the right tablets. APPARENTLY, when I complained and asked them to take recompense us for their error, which they admitted, they said it was OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CHECK THE PRECRIPTION. So now being 150 pounds out of pocket ,because of their error, they refuse to accept any responsibility. We’ve moved vets now and can see the difference already. It looks like pound signs colour customer service and practice , so would recommend going somewhere else. (Oh and before the usual aggressive response blaming us comes from the owner , when you have the same name of medication , both apoquel, how is a non professional expected to know the difference …. and then be told by the vet in effect, no problem with the prescription, they are phasing the old ones out…..).My advice avoid this vet.
Read on Google →Our local vet - been with them for over the past 6 years and will continue seeking their advice and assistance for our 2 cats. The vets and nurses have been professional, friendly and helpful while reception team has always been calm, attentive and efficient. Neat front desk, clean examination rooms and convenient location - Free parking and operational lift. —— Roger is our cat and he has a neurological issue since late 2024 that even with a referal to RVC (Royal Veterinary College) could not offer us any diagnosis nor any treatment plan. In light of his recent relapse episode, we come to appreciate more the work that Loughton vets and staffs do as well as the pressure they are under. Without the pet patient being able to tell them what’s wrong (and especially if you as an owner fail to notice what’s wrong), they can only rely on standard diagnostic tools to gain a better understanding; and like GPs, there is only so much that they can offer to do onsite. We received clear-cut options in our case and were thankful for the vets’ sympathy and support going ahead with our own action plan. It was a very stressful period for us and while feeling so worried and helpless at the same time, being greeted with consideration and compassion really helped us stay composed and positive. We are thankful for Jennifer, who has been a friendly face, genuine, kind and prompt with all reception tasks. We are grateful for Aaron and Cheryl, who are both invested in and very attentive to Roger throughout his healing journey. Our minds are at ease when seeing them and we have trust in their abilities and experiences. And last but not least, Georgina is caring and gentle with animals, she has so much love for Roger he was very content in her presence. —— People of Loughton can be difficult and demanding. We believe that unfortunately it is the underlying reason why the core team at this practice is so small and that at times, some vets end up acting relatively too by-the-book.
Read on Google →Belle had her spay done 10 days ago and everything went smoothly and no issues at all. The care received was 100% reception staff were lovely, and the vet nurse was thorough and reassuring whilst my anxiety was through the roof. Aftercare was brilliant and very reassuring to ensure all was healing as it should and advice given was fantastic in what to look out for and how to help with recovery. This is the second time i have had to leave Belle in the capable hands of Loughton vets4pets and i can’t fault a thing at all. Belle’s wound is so neat and healed within 5 days thanks to Cheryl’s expertise and steady hand i’m sure! Big thank you for looking after my Belle again to a high standard and being somewhere we feel happy to visit.
