The vets here misdiagnosed my guinea pig due to incompetence and a lack of proper investigation. We were told that she had an terminal bladder tumour and to just make her comfortable as there was nothing to be done. After a week, I felt that this was not right and took her to another vet. He carried out proper testing and diagnosed her with an ovarian tumour that should have be removable. However, due to her lack of timely diagnosis, she had deteriorated too quickly and did not survive the surgery. I have since consulted a third independent vet who informed me that the method used (an ultrasound) by Pets4Vets to diagnose her with a bladder tumour would not even have been able to do so. I attempted to receive some kind of apology or compensation repeatedly, even going through citizens advice to reach an agreement. However, Pets4Vets refused all mediation and stated that they supported the diagnosis despite another vet carrying out a surgery that literally definitively contradicts this. I am devastated by my loss and felt so poorly and insensitively treated by the vets here. I understand that mistakes happen, but an apology and admittance of an incorrect diagnosis would have gone a long way. Please do not bring your exotic animals here as the 'exotic animal' specialist was not equipped to treat my guinea pig.

I wanted to take the time to write a review following the passing of our rabbit a few months ago. Vets for Pets cared for our Bunny brilliantly and when he was ill and we had to make the decision that no pet owner wants to make, I had a 2 week old baby with me and reception staff offered to watch over my baby so I could be with my bunny in his final moments. I will be forever grateful for their care and compassion during this time from the reception and veterinary staff.

Excellent service. We have a dog-reactive dog and they work with us every time to ensure we can get him straight into the check up room. They're sensitive and creative in ensuring our dog gets the precise care he needs and clearly care a lot about the well-being of their patients.

I cannot recommend this practice at all. I took my cat for an appointment after I realised that she had a problem with her front tooth. The vet did not check her over and didn’t look at her mouth as she was flinching but he should’ve examined her more thoroughly. He only looked at her front tooth and gave her some painkillers. He did not seem interested in following up the appointment due to the fact that she was elderly with health issues. I got very upset because I wasn’t ready to lose her but he basically told me to see how she went during the week. I had to chase a quote for the removal of the tooth and I cannot believe that they quoted £1200?! What an absolute joke. I think that this practice and the rest of this franchise rely on people having insurance it is absolutely extortionate. I went to Medivet who did the whole thing for £250 and were caring and considerate and understanding. Avoid unless you have money to throwaway. It also turned out that she got a fractured tooth at the top and an abscess that he completely missed so she was struggling all week in pain. I am furious with the service and upset that he didn’t check her over and so she must have been so upset and in pain.

All staff are friendly and very welcoming, had a few problems at vets before with having Akitas, they listen and advice and work around you the best they can. My girl is super anxious and they are great with her!
