  I wish I could give 10 stars . I found an injured hedge hog on my allotment. All local rescues full to capacity. So i started ringing round local vets . We are registered with PDSA due to our financial situation. All the vets I rang wouldn't see him without a fee . But then I had the good fortune to ring this vets. Allowed me to bring him down and examine him top to bottom. No charge. The care and compassion of this business really touched my heart ❤️. Hedge hog was fine. The sore ended up to be a bit of dead worm stuck in his spikes 😆. So i have released him where i found them. Thank you so much. You are amazing 👏 🤩 ❤️

  I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at The Pet Vet in Barnsley for their wonderful customer service and kindness. I called rather late in the day to request a repeat prescription for my rabbit, Esme. Debbie was so friendly and explained that it normally wouldn’t be possible to reorder over the weekend, and advised me to call back on Monday. However, within just a few minutes, Debbie kindly rang me back to say that she and Luke, one of the vets, had managed to sort everything out for me and that I could collect Esme’s medicine that very same day! The kindness, thoughtfulness, and care shown to both me and Esme was truly lovely and very much appreciated. Debbie went above and beyond to help, and it was absolutely brilliant customer service. Thank you all so much!

  This is an excellent vets, the staff are all welcoming, kind, and professional. The waiting area has plenty of space and is very clean and comfortable, and as as you book a time slot it is not at all noisy and crowded. When our cat became ill we searched for a local vet online and the majority in our area seemed to have some very mixed reviews, with the exception of one - The Pet Vet, the reviews for which were overwhelmingly positive, and now I can totally understand why. Great place. Highly recommend it.

  I was concerned about an issue with my degu (sneezing, clicking nose), but my regular exotic vet couldn't see her for four days. After ringing around different vets, I was advised to try the Barnsley Pet Vet, who had an exotic vet. They were able to fit me in the same day, which was amazing. The reception staff were warm and welcoming. Parking was great, the waiting room spacious with areas for different species, and even tea and coffee available! The exotic vet, Ana, was very courteous, good at communicating and honest. Thanks to her help, my degu is a lot more comfortable!

  I’ve been with The Pet Vet for over 10 years now—right back to when it was just a shipping container in a car park—and I honestly wouldn’t take my dog anywhere else. The staff are always so lovely, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. It’s easy to get an appointment when you need one, prices are fair, and the team are incredibly knowledgeable. The customer service is A* every single time. My older dog absolutely loved visiting, especially for the fuss and attention from the reception staff, which always made it a positive experience for him. And my new rescue had a brilliant first visit too—the team were so patient, understanding, and kind, which made a big difference. Couldn’t recommend them highly enough!
