  We ended up at this vets as one of the pets was ill and our normal vets was closed as it was a Sunday, we went to our local vets out of hours clinic in Sheffield and very nearly had my leg lifted for £310 just for the appointment, any medication needed would be extra, whilst there we overheard another couple being told that this vets was only £45 for an appointment, after a quick call to Vets for Pets Barnsley we were on our way. Once there the cat was given a scan, medication and advice for a fraction of the price we were going to pay at Sheffield. The staff were very caring even calling up after several days to see how everything was going on. We also needed a follow up appointment and we were flabbergasted at the service again, The vet that saw us was absolutely fantastic, plenty of advice and so caring, again with follow up calls to see how the patient was getting on. Absolutely fantastic vets, fantastic staff, this is just how they should be. I would definitely recommend this vets.

  I have nothing but absolute praise for this Pet Hospital. My dog is currently in the hospital, and from start to finish the treatment she has received is outstanding as is the communication between Peter the owner/vet, David our regular vet, Will/vet, and all the nurses and admin team, Even the insurance lady Kimberley got me an update for no reason, we were just discussing Sasha's insurance on email, but she thought I would like an update. Everyone is just so caring, what more can you ask for. I've been coming here since it opened in 2022 and wouldn't consider using another vet, and where I've read reviews moaning about costing etc, if it was compared to human private health care and not the NHS, its actually around the same price, I would much rather have the treatment availability, and expertise and pay for it than not. I've seen this practice grow from a small two man band with Peter and Caroline, to what it is today, I feel very fortunate to have this service with the facilities and expertise so close to me. Without their knowledge, and facilities I'm not sure my girl would still be with us with the complex conditions she has had for nearly two years. Being there often I've probably met an awful lot of the staff in all areas, and every one is friendly, caring to both owners and pets, helpful, empathetic, professional, and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you everyone you truly are an amazing team. You've pulled Sasha through on more than one occasion.

  We have come through to Vets4Pets twice during a weekend and an overnight emergency period. We are not fully registered as we have a Vet practice a lot closer to our home, however if I lived closer I would happily bring my pets here and feel confident about the care they've received. On one occasion we were there at midnight due to my dog piercing an Asthma inhaler a few years ago. I was understandably distressed, but the front desk were great with me, as was the Nurse on the phone. Once we got in the room the Vet was very relaxed as he explained the options, which of course I appreciate, however I was so panicked and wanted to start treatment. That was my only constructive criticism is that I saw my boy was symptomatic and wanted to get started whilst the Vet was listing the watch and wait options and the prices. Once we established what we were happy to proceed with things moved a lot quicker and our dog was treated and cared for so well. I asked for a printout of his inpatient episode to take to our usual Vets and for my own curiosity and that was completed with no issue. So grateful for Vets4Pets that weekend. Fast forward to this year and we said goodbye to our dog on the weekend when our usual Vets wasn't open. I cannot fault them, we were treated but Dr Megan Reid and she was utterly perfect with how she handled our poorly boy and providing us with the information and guidance to make the best decision for him. It is never a nice thing to experience but I don't think I could have asked for anything better. He was kept comfortable and we were provided with time with him that I will cherish forever. As an additional note, when we came back a week later to pick up his ashes we were provided such empathy and understanding. That is so important on a day I was absolutely dreading so thank you so much to the Vets4Pets team. Truly appreciate you being there for so many on their worst days and helping guide us through it.

  Had what seemed like an emergency this morning where our dog appeared to lose ability to walk and shaking quite dramatically. Called Vets for Pets and reception were excellent and helped us calm a little. Agreed to take Buddy in immediately. When we arrived reception were excellent and ready for us to arrive, at this time Buddy now able to walk but a little over stimulated. Offered a cup of coffee / tea by the 2 reception staff. Big thank you to you both. We were lucky to meet with Pete who I believe is the owner, who examined Buddy and provided excellent advice and medication. When you are stressed with an ill pet, these people are exactly what you need. Calm, knowledgeable and without doubt caring. We have used this practice for around 2 years for routine appointments since a very poor experience elsewhere and without a doubt can honestly say every person we have dealt with has been top class and trustworthy. Thanks so much for looking after Buddy, who is now here at home and being his usual mischievous self. He has just stolen some of my wife’s dinner, so yes all good in Buddy’s life

  From start to finish, the care from this vets was truly exceptional. Over the Christmas period, when emotions were already high, my dog was taken for a scan and immediately into surgery. The owners personally saw her case through and carried out the surgery themselves, which meant so much to us. I was kept informed every step of the way, with clear, honest explanations that really helped during an incredibly stressful and frightening time. She was looked after with genuine love, care, and dignity throughout. Although the surgery itself was a success and she was home in time for Christmas, they unfortunately had to share some very difficult news about her prognosis. That call was handled with the utmost compassion, kindness, and sensitivity — something I will never forget. During one of the hardest moments, especially over Christmas, their empathy and professionalism made an unbearable situation a little easier. I am so deeply grateful for everything they did especially Caroline, Peter and Will. We have used this vets for years and travel around 40 minutes to get there, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
