Had my cat in for annual check up and booster jabs, locum vet told us he has a heart murmur and to have a heart scan done. The next day he was lethargic from his jabs but after the news about his heart we took him to Barnsley vets4pets that morning to be sure it wasn't his heart. She checked his heart and said there wasn't an issue no heart murmur. We decided to go ahead with the heart scan as a precaution, they let us book him in for 9.45 to be dropped off when the cardiologist wouldn't arrive until after 1 without telling us that. Why let a cat with a potential heart issue sit in a cage for hours stressing rather than communicate to us at the time of booking that he wouldn't be seen until hours later, we'd have chosen the very last slot. We then get a call at 11.30 about sedation costs but there was no clarity what the call was about, the impression I got was they'd tried without sedation but now had to use that option - not the case it was purely a pricing call. But worst of all was the fact that the first sentence out of the receptionists mouth wasn't YOUR CAT IS FINE!! I had to ask once I realised the call wasn't an emergency. It's just all been a faff, but I call an independent vets today and the receptionist gives me more info than everyone ive seen this weekend at vets4pets. Most importantly that heart murmurs can come and go and it could have just been due to the stress of being at the vets! The worry this has all caused and one phone call with another practice can set that right has told us to move vets, we've been with vets4pets for 13 years and I have no confidence left in you after this weekend. Not the point but nigh on 600 for a scan and 140 for sedation and for as little info as we received about his condition, no grade to his murmur just that he has one...Just makes you think!

My cat was taken as an emergency the vet was waiting for her when she arrived the vet attended to her straight away and we ended up taking her to the main surgery on huddersfield road . They were waiting for her and attended to her straight away . They did everything they could to save her but sadly we lost her . I cannot thank them enough for trying to save her the cost of the care was worth it to try and save her . RIP Missey you were a much loved and now missed family member .
