  I have been with this practice for over two years now and couldn’t be happier with the service and care provided. My dog has had regular check-ups here as well as her spay surgery, and on every occasion the treatment has been impeccable. The team is professional, kind, and genuinely caring, always taking the time to explain everything clearly and making both me and my dog feel at ease. The level of attention and compassion shown before, during, and after the surgery was outstanding. I truly trust them with my dog’s health and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for excellent veterinary care.

  I have been with this vets for 4 years and in these years my dog has been to the vets for procedures on multiple occasions, with Rory (orthopaedic vet) commenting on how well behaved my dog was even after the traumatic surgery he had. Unfortunately, when the XL bully ban came in, we had to exempt our due to falling into the 'bully type'. After this, the vets attitude and behaviour changed towards my dog even though there was previous personal experience of how well behaved my dog was amongst all the staff - vets, nurses and receptionist. They changed his breed on their system without informing me (which legally they are not allowed to do) and was only for me noticing this which is why it was then changed back. My dog had to be neutered and after having my dog previously in for multiple procedures, I knew the routine. This time, due to him being a 'banned breed', he was now sedated in the room which was very traumatic for myself as they gave him the injection then immediately left the room for myself and my husband to guide our dog to the floor and sit with him until they decided to return. It then took 4 staff members to drag him into the back, again very distressing for myself as this is not how they have treated him before - nor required to do this as he is not an aggressive dog. When questioned about this, the Vet assistant continued to repeat 'thats the way it is now' and couldn't fully explain why this was the case. He had his muzzle kept on throughout, even when caged and was even fed through this as he returned back to me having food covering the muzzle and all around his snout. After this situation, I did speak to management who explained I should have been informed about the new procedure. She states that all banned breeds will be treated the same and although he's never shown aggression before, they have to treat him like he has. I feel as a Vets surgery - people who should be promoting animal rights, they are failing. Tameside vets are blanketing all 'bully type' dogs as the same. Their procedure is not the law, it is a Surgery specific protocol. Now having gone to another Vets, I can safely say they do not blank the 'type' and allow him to take him muzzle off when in the back as they have personal experience that he is not an aggressive dog. Prior to moving to my new vets, I had other issues with the Tameside Droylsden vets trying to get more money from myself following the renewal of his annual injections. Not giving correct advice that as per their protocol the injections need to be 6 weeks apart to the day and no room for a day either side. However, the manufacturer of the injections allow up to 12 week gap. They tried to make restart the annual injections again. More I also rang to get a estimate of how much it would cost for an X-ray (the problem was explained to the staff member), to be told that they will not give me an estimate as he has not been seen in less than 6 months and therefore needed to be seen first. This I do understand as I wouldn't expect them to send me for an X-ray without a consultation however they would not even provide me with a quote. Over the last 4 years, this surgery has become worse and worse. Prices are extortionate which wouldn't be half as bad if they treated the animals correctly, which unfortunately from my experience has been very poor, especially in more recent years.

  As always James treated Flash as if she was his own dog, she has no fear of going to the vets and is always pleased to see James and treated very well. The staff are very polite and helpful. I would highly recommend this vet.

  Great practice. Recently fit us in same day for a check up as part of my pet plan. There's a helpful choice of four clinics. Thorough assessment. Clinic runs on time. Could be improved with reminders about included pet plan services and more transparency about costs (x-ray and dental) on the website.

  I have used Tameside vet for a number of years and would happily recommend them. The receptionist are very helpful and I always ask for the same vet when I need to make an appointment. I have a nervous dog and the vet is so patient with him.
