(edit: the vet was also late may i add by 45 minutes) Not entirely happy with our service to be honest. We were charged for extra sedation because my horse was being “tricky” even though the vets were warned he was scared of the vets and needles. We had a trainer come out half an hour before the vet arrived to desensitise him and he said that he wouldn’t be a problem as he is fine to pinch his skin around his neck and where the needle will be. The problem is my horse is just scared of the actual needle. When Peyton & Lee arrived, even though the vet was aware of this issue, she decided to walk in the stable with the needle in her hand and when he saw it he freaked out. Following that his sedation kicked in he became drowsy and she went in again to see if he needed further sedation, this time the needle was hanging out of her mouth. Again, as soon as he saw the needle and started fighting off the sedation trying to walk around and perked up again as he was scared so then it was another fight to try and sedate him further. It’s wasn’t particularly happy about the fact I’ve been charged additional for sedation that probably wasn’t needed as he was pretty out of it and he only perked up as he was scared when she came in showing the needle straight to his face. I’m also not happy that when i got called about the extra payment i got told the extra payment was because “the horse was being tricky” maybe next time dont go showing a scared horse needles as hes had bad experiences with vets, i dont think this experience is going to help him. personally if you have a scared or anxious horse maybe look for a different veterinarian doing the job than the one i had.
Read on Google →I have been extremely impressed with the service provided at Paton and Lee recently. The vet attending my horse’s emergency, Agata Kucko has gone above and beyond with the kindness, support and reassurance given at this very worrying time. I would highly recommend and I’m truly thankful.
