  What can I say about this place? It is incredibly well-run, friendly, clean, calm. From Lise on the phone organising my cat’s emergency appointment, to the welcome from Lauren and all her help sorting out water and a calm space for us, to Sharon the nurse whose cat-whispering skills are frankly amazing (a very frightened cat was pacified by her immediately and was soon back to himself and strolling around the room as if it was his own), to Stefan the opthalmologist who was genuinely one of the kindest, warmest, friendliest medical professionals I’ve ever met. Sometimes you just come across people who are genuinely remarkably brilliant at their job, and Stefan is one of those people. He was so clear and calm and it was a pleasure to watch him work. He and Sharon make a wonderful team. Grace also helped with lots of tricky insurance stuff and she and Lauren were fantastic when the cat and I came out of the surgery. It could have been one of the worst days I’d had for years but the staff at Southfields made it it not just bearable but almost a pleasure to be there … and that’s saying something when you have a beloved cat with a serious eye injury. Whatever they are doing, they should keep doing it. Five stars every day of the week. Thank you to all of them.

  The veterinary team at Southfields were exceptional with JD during his IMTP relapse in May 2026. The head vet even lost sleep working on solutions to help him, and the whole ICU team’s expertise and compassion saved his life. They kept us informed on his condition, made quick decisions, and treated him like their own. I cannot fault the clinical care. The only improvement needed is more regular cost updates. Initial estimate was £1,000–£2,000; we had no further communication until the bill reached £9,000 a week later. Still, I would recommend Southfields without hesitation. The vets here are outstanding and truly care.

  My Dachshund, Luna, was taken to our local vet after she suddenly lost sensation in the lower part of her body. We were urgently referred to Southfields Veterinary Specialists and I cannot express how wonderful the entire team was. We were seen very quickly and received a thorough consultation from a senior vet. Everything was explained clearly, including the possible diagnosis, treatment options and likely outcomes, which helped us make informed decisions during a very stressful time. Luna underwent an MRI scan under general anaesthetic, which confirmed she had IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease), a condition affecting the spine. We decided to proceed with spinal surgery and I'm delighted to say that Luna is now recovering well. One thing that really stood out about Southfields was their package pricing. These situations can quickly become overwhelming financially, but Southfields offered a fixed price package that included: * Initial consultation with a member of the Specialist-led Neurology Team * MRI scan performed by the Specialist-led Diagnostic Imaging Team * Decompressive spinal surgery, including general anaesthesia provided by the Specialist-led Anaesthesia Team * Three nights of hospitalisation with 24-hour nursing and veterinary care * Pre-operative blood tests * Post-discharge pain relief * One post-operative check-up Knowing exactly what was included and what the costs would be gave us tremendous peace of mind at an already difficult time. Throughout Luna's stay, we received regular updates from the team, which was incredibly reassuring. Knowing how she was doing and being kept informed every step of the way made a difficult situation much easier to cope with. I am incredibly grateful to everyone involved in Luna's care. The professionalism, expertise, compassion, communication and support were outstanding throughout. I would highly recommend Southfields Veterinary Specialists to anyone whose pet needs specialist treatment. Luna and our family are very thankful for everything they did.

  I can't recommend this practice enough although there are aspects which could be improved. Our Lily has been taken care of and her quality of life has improved. She loves going to the practice and the radiotherapy team have been amazing. I do think the practice could be warmer in its environment and communication as we are all human and things can get misconstrued or misinterpreted. Lily bounces out of the car and is happy to arrive. It's worth the three hour drive !

  We were referred to Southfields Oncology from our specialist hospital in the Midlands. James and his team were highly recommended and our much loved dog needed radiotherapy for a tumour on her pituitary gland. The service we received from reception through to the specialist team was excellent always friendly and gave regular updates. The treatment was daily radiotherapy over 3.5 weeks and due to the distance our pet was an in patient for the majority of time there. She received a high level of care and lots of fuss and love from all the staff looking after her. I would highly recommend Southfields to anyone considering this treatment. There have been no side effects and the treatment was a complete success and the follow up scan 9 months later showed excellent results.
