Hawthorn Veterinary Surgeries is an independent, family-run small animal practice with three branches located in Henfield, Partridge Green, and Hassocks, West Sussex. They offer comprehensive veterinary care for pets, utilizing modern equipment and maintaining a policy of ongoing staff training. The practice prides itself on providing excellent veterinary care in a friendly and approachable setting, with a commitment to regularly upgrading its facilities. Jonathan and Annelise Underwood took ownership in 2012, and later welcomed Danielle and Fabian Kaelin as Assistant Directors. The team includes Fear Free Certified Practitioners, ensuring a positive experience for pets. Practical services include comprehensive pet health plans, a mobile vet service for home visits, and pet insurance options tailored for clients. The main surgery in Henfield was relocated to a purpose-designed facility in 2019, and the Hassocks branch opened in 2025.

Hawthorn Veterinary Practice is based at Hawthorn House, Henfield, West Sussex, BN5 9DA in Sussex. The practice treats birds, cats, dogs, exotic/wild, poultry and small mammals. It is open at weekends.

  I cannot recommend Adam highly enough for the incredible care he provided to my dog before and after surgery. From the very first consultation, Adam took the time to thoroughly explain the procedure, answer all of my questions, and make sure I felt completely comfortable with the treatment plan. His knowledge and professionalism were evident, but what truly stood out was his compassion and genuine concern for my dog’s wellbeing. Before the operation, Adam was patient, reassuring, and incredibly attentive. After the surgery, he went above and beyond with follow-up care—checking in regularly, providing detailed aftercare instructions, and making himself available to address any concerns.   I can’t praise Vicky at Hawthorns enough, she is absolutely brilliant. She has been a constant support with my beautiful girl(Doberman) who has had some issues with her hips and has hip dysplasia, Vicky is so kind and caring and informative and discusses everything so I can make an informed decision, never patronises or makes decisions for me. She always informs me of where we’re at and what treatments are available now and in the future. Thank you Vicky, you are amazing 😊

  I have recently visited your practice with 3 of my 4 fur babies and the service has been excellent every time. Receptionists, nurses, animal care assistant (Briony) and vets, particularly Vicki who won over my very grumpy, snappy Little Chiuhaua in no time.
