The staff you actually come into contact with at Arun Vets are all lovely, kind and genuinely caring people, but I really feel for them having to work for a company that overcharges and shows very little compassion for its patients. This practice feels very much like a money-making business rather than one primarily concerned with animal welfare. While the frontline staff treated my dog well, the cost of procedures is, in my opinion, obscene, including extremely high charges for basic post-operative care after already paying thousands. It’s honestly quite shocking. We’ve now chosen to leave the practice because I was so appalled by the amount we had to pay out. A friend who works at another veterinary practice told me what they would have charged for the same treatment… and it was less than two thirds of the price. My other major concern is that in five years, I never saw the same vet twice. To me, that suggests the staff themselves may not be happy where they’re working. Many seemed embarrassed when they were requesting more money for things that should’ve been included in patient after care. Really disappointed that profit appears to be prioritised over patient care here.

I was treated with compassion when I visited today for support with pet health certificate for travel back to France. The vet explained clearly what had not been explained before..the reception staff were extremely kind. Would recommend them anytime

I wanted to share my heartfelt appreciation for two members of the Ashington team at Arun Vets — Deborah and Carol — who have shown me and my dogs such exceptional care and kindness. Deborah has supported me through some of the most difficult times with my dogs, particularly with the loss of my beloved Bella. Her compassion, calmness, and empathy are extraordinary. She treats both animals and owners with such gentleness and respect, and I will always be grateful for the care she gave Bella, ensuring she had a peaceful and dignified passing. I also felt so supported and held by her throughout that time — her presence and kindness made an unbearable situation more bearable. It’s rare to find someone who combines professional excellence with such genuine warmth, and I feel very fortunate to have her as our vet. She is a truly special person, and I can’t overstate how much her presence means to both myself and my dogs. Carol, on reception, is always so welcoming and kind whenever I call or visit. She has a wonderful way of making everything feel easier, even on tough days, and her reassuring manner really sets the tone for the whole practice. It’s incredibly reassuring to know that people like Deborah and Carol are part of Arun Vets. They both embody the practice’s values of compassion, professionalism, and genuine care. They are a real credit to the team and bring something very special to it. I hope they both know how appreciated they are by those of us who rely on them.

Wonderful caring vets. Special mention for Deborah for being so thorough and caring with Buddy, and Carol on reception who is an absolute credit to Arun Vets. So welcoming and friendly and really goes above and beyond to provide a first class service.
