  I am absolutely devastated by my experience with Vets4Pets. I took my young, healthy rabbit in for what I believed would be a routine castration. I dropped him off at 9:15am, and by around 11am I was called and told that his heart had “crashed.” When I arrived at around 2pm, I was told he was brain dead and there was nothing more they could do, leaving me with no choice but to have him put to sleep. I asked if an exotic vet could assess him, but I was told that there was nothing more that could be done. I was also told they didn’t know whether he had an underlying condition and that a blood test should have been done. I was told a colleague had suggested this to me yet he never did. I understand that the risks were explained to me and that I signed the consent form, but I trusted the practice to provide appropriate care and assessment. I took my rabbit in expecting to bring him home that day and instead had to say goodbye to him. I paid £138 and only received £85 back, with the rest being taken for cremation. I am heartbroken and left with serious questions about the care, pre-operative assessment, rabbit-specific experience and anaesthetic management. I sincerely hope Vets4Pets properly reviews what happened and that other rabbit owners ask questions about the vet’s experience with rabbits before consenting to surgery.

  We’ve been bringing our two cats, Silvio and Giorgio, to Pets at Home for a while now, and every single visit reminds us why we trust this team so much. From the moment you walk in, the front desk staff make everything easy — friendly, organised, and genuinely caring. The nurses are incredible. You can tell they love what they do; they handle our boys with so much patience and kindness, even when Silvio gets a bit shy or Giorgio decides he wants to explore everything. And the vets… honestly, amazing. They take their time, explain things clearly, and you never feel rushed. They treat our cats like their own, and that’s something you can’t fake. It’s rare to find a place where every single person makes you feel welcome and reassured, but this team does exactly that. We’re really grateful for the care they’ve given Silvio and Giorgio — and for the peace of mind they give us every time we walk through the door.

  The team at Old Kent Road are absolutely fantastic! Hannah has been wonderful helping my cat Dolly with her weight management. We always receive the loveliest service, all our questions are answered with lots of kindness and she makes sure to make both me and Dolly feel very comfortable!   If I had any doubts before, they have now been completely put to rest. My pet, Amber, became unwell, and on a bank holiday, Pets at Home was the only place I could find for immediate assistance. From the moment I arrived, I was met with exceptional care and compassion. The receptionists, Kathleen and Teresa, were truly outstanding. I was very distressed, but they both took the time to comfort and support me throughout what was a difficult experience. I was there for nearly an hour, and their kindness made a significant difference. Pets at home have employed staff members who are kind, caring and very efficient. A big thank you also to Denise and Ida at the reception area who helped to resolved my early arrival for another appointment and assured me not to worry about anything. The veterinary professional who attended to Amber, Andrea was equally impressive. She was attentive, reassuring, and took the time to explain everything clearly and thoroughly, which helped ease my concerns. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all the staff at the Old Kent Road Pets at Home, including the sales team at the tills, especially George and Billy, for their professionalism and kindness. I would highly recommend this branch to anyone concerned about their pet’s wellbeing.

  We are extremely grateful to this veterinary practice for their kindness and care. After our bird Frederico flew away, someone kind found him and brought him to this vet. The team took him in, looked after him, and kept him safe until he could be returned to us. A special thank you to Dr. Rachel, who took care of Frederico, she was compassionate, attentive, and clearly genuinely cared about his wellbeing. He was returned to us in good health and even with treats, which meant the world to us. We can’t thank the team enough for helping reunite us with our bird. Highly recommended.
