Always quick and efficient service, with vets that give you all options and don't go for the hard sell. Reception and nursing staff are very helpful

I can not recommend Brunswick enough. We have a medically complex pup who has spent a lot of time visiting Brunswick and they welcome her like an old friend. She absolutely loves going to see everyone. They are also absolutely amazing me - the nervous dog mum. They make me feel welcome to ask questions and ensure I am fully ok with the plan going forward. Our pup rates the treats 10/10 too

We have used Brunswick Place Veterinary Clinic for many years, and have always been so happy with our vet Julia, who has such a caring nature and it felt like she loved our pets as we do. We unfortunately had to have our lovely 13 year old Border Collie female dog put to sleep last week after a great deal of soul searching on our part. We did not wish to put Tilly through any other trauma, not knowing if the soft tissue sarcoma to her foot had already spread to other parts of her body. She had already lost an eye, was deaf, had arthritis and was showing signs of dementia. We had taken weeks to make this decision and finally decided to allow her some peace. We discussed this with Julia, and agreed that we were not sure if Tilly would cope with another change at the age of 13. Although we had originally booked with Julia for Wednesday evening, and have had many wonderful experiences with Julia with our previous pets; we could not bear the stress that this was putting on us, so we brought the appointment forward. With hindsight, this was a very bad decision for us, and we have contacted the Surgery directly by email, with no response at all. When we booked the original appointment, the receptionist was so sweet and advised that we would be placed in a room away from everyone else whilst Tilly was given her injection. This was not the case at all. We arrived at around 5.55pm in time for our 6.00pm appointment and were told to take a seat in the waiting room. The time went by and at around 6.20pm, a receptionist asked if we would like to sit in another room. By this time, the waiting room was empty, so we did not see the need. At no time were we given an apology or reason for our long wait. Tilly always became very anxious at the vets and was panting the entire time we were waiting. This was upsetting for us all, knowing what we were about to face but no-one spoke to us or gave us an explanation. We were finally led into the quiet room at around 6.35pm, and it was a completely rushed appointment. We were not shown any compassion at all by the vet or his nurse, who barely looked at us, and were not particularly gentle with Tilly either. She did not need to be restrained as she was a very gentle, quiet dog but the nurse held her when my husband and I were already doing so. It was not a relaxed quiet goodbye but a rushed haphazard task to be undertaken. We were given time to say goodbye to her once she was at peace, but by this time we were completely traumatised by the whole experience, and it felt like we were a nuisance, being judged for our decision, and that they just wanted to get this over with as it was the end of their day. The reason for writing this review is because we would not want any other pet owners to experience what we did last week. We will never have the chance to say goodbye to our lovely Tilly again, and this has left us completely bereft, devastated and that we have failed Tilly up to her last breath. Brunswick Place let us down and do not even have the decency to respond to our concerns.

Brunswick Place have done so much for our puppy, at a time when we had little options in Basingstoke. Though they were the only practice to accept our registration they have been exceptional in the care of our dog. From illness, jabs and minor surgery they have been courteous, professional, skilled and most of all patient. Our dog is not fond of visiting the vet and is not shy to show it, but they’ve handled her well and I’m so grateful for all the work they’ve done from receptionist, to nurses and vets themselves. I would recommend them to anyone.
