Took my dog to this vets for first time to get nails cut and ask about some lumps he has, vets suggested a blood test which cost £99.50 + £11.50 to draw the blood then gave medication for arthritis cost £18.18 plus the consultation fee £39.00 at the same time vets asked me to get a water sample I assumed this was in with the bill of £168 as there was no mention of further costs! I got a phone call to say blood tests for liver , kidneys cancer were all negative they were waiting for water sample to test it, NO MENTION OF MY PAYING FURTHER COSTS a scan of the liver was mentioned at a cost of £150 but as the blood tests were negative I decided against this. Imagine my shock when going to collect more medication from the vets practice that I had an outstanding bill of £54.00 for an extra blood test & the water sample test plus the medication charges of £25.07 which I paid. apparently they said i agreed on the phone after being told all tests had come back clear to a further test for pancreatitis which is totally untrue using the same blood they had already drawn. If they had told me there was a charge for testing a water sample I would not of bothered with it as all tests thus far were negative, so they have apparently blacklisted me now so it looks like I will have to take this matter further good job I have all of the calls etc recorded BE VERY WARY OF THESE HIDDEN CHARGES THEY TRY TO CON YOU INTO PAYING!! EXAMPLE THEY NEVER EXPLAINED TO ME WHAT BLOOD TESTS THEY WERE DOING IN THE BACK ROOM AS THEY DO NOT USE A LAB THEY ONLY TOOK ONE VIAL OF BLOOD SO WHY THE EXTRA COST ??
Read on Google →If I could give 0 I would, please avoid at all costs!!!! Completely miss diagnosed my dog due to laziness, asked for a scan and they said it wasn’t needed, he died a month later at 2 years old, he’d have survived if a scan was done. Not only that they have refused to comment or contact since… disgusting people.
Read on Google →Very kindly took our dog in with no notice after she went walkabouts. Treated her completely in her best interests and kept her safe despite the fact that we were not registered there. Would highly recommend if you want a compassionate and effective vets. Will definitely use them again should the need arise. Thank you
Read on Google →First time to use the vet for an animal charity, it looks very clean, still has COVID restrictions which is good to know. Staff is very friendly, helpful and polite, as I was waiting outside, I saw a few other staff interacting with other pet owners, who were all very polite & supportive. Only thing I would point out is the parking situation, as it’s in a residential area, there are only 3 parking spaces (if people park their cars nicely) and the street is already very busy, and no disabled parking. Obviously the vet helps & saves animals, can’t control everything else, and I understand that.
Read on Google →Ambion are our local vets and I’m so happy about that. Kate and Linda are wonderful vets and the team behind the scenes are brilliant too. There’s a small waiting area and street parking. They have looked after my cat and two dogs over the years and are very supportive. Kate has operated on my cat to remove his hip bone after an accident, you could hardly see the stitching and he recovered really quickly. She’s done hip scoring for my Labrador to have pups, they’ve vaccinated and chipped all the puppies, Kate had fixed my younger dogs injured tongue and spayed my older dog, all of which recovered quickly and without need for repeat surgery. This veterinary centre while being a country practice and relatively small has a great team of people. We love them 🥰
