  Here's my experience. On 2 December 2025 my partner and I took our cat round here for a dental. The bloodwork taken for this had been fine and we had no concerns. We picked him up and were told there was nothing untoward to report and that he was fine. He took unwell on 3 December and he was rushed back round where it was decided he would undergo further blood work, tests, ultrasound and meds. He stayed for that afternoon and we picked him up later to be told that he had a bacterial infection and had started antibiotics for this. We were told to bring him back first thing in Thursday 4 December for more fluids, antibiotics. We did so, dropped him off first thing and waited until we were called at half four only to be informed that there was no improvement and we were to pick him up at 6pm. On picking him up we were told that we had basically ran out of options, he was very poorly and we were then advised to bring him round first thing Friday morning with the intention of letting him go. We decided not to do that as he had a reasonable night and I was still hoping the antibiotics would kick in and had requested more to give him over the weekend. On Saturday the 6 December 2025 we could see he wasn't getting better and we took him to the animal hospital in Charing Cross. When the vet saw our cat she did her own bloodwork and imagine our horror when we were told that he had suffered a kidney injury likely to have been caused by the anaesthetic and then further informed that they could not concur with a bacterial infection. She them told us that it was unlikely that she could save him and we had to let him go. This is being investigated by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. Had we let our cat go on the Friday when it was recommended that we let him go we would never have known about the anaesthetic injury. This practice over the years has significantly deteriorated so much so I had previously written a letter of complaint to them back in 2024. I promise none of this is made up as I know the RCVS wouldn't be involved unless they had grounds to do so.

  Really happy with the service I have received so far as a first time pet owner. The staff are very friendly and explain costs clearly so there are no surprises. I joined the healthy pet club and it has been really useful to spread the cost of vaccines, check ups, and discounts on procedures like neutering. There is a separate waiting room for cats which is quiet and there are blankets you can put over the carrier to keep them calm if you like. I look forward to my next appointment because of the friendly atmosphere.

  Amazing vet looked after Thor and Loki extremely well. Friendly staff and explained everything very well so I would understand procedures and after care. Cost is good too would highly recommended thank you everyone at ALBA VET

  Special thanks to Sarah, Charlene, and Aileen for their exceptional care first! I recently took my cat to this vet after she accidentally swallowed a piece of aluminum foil. The staff were incredibly friendly, providing kind and professional advice throughout. The clinic appears to offer a comprehensive range of services. Definitely would recommend it to my friends.

  I love the team and would recommend them to anyone I've been with Albavet Dennistoun since we got my dog Buggy (5 years now) and they have always been amazing. I've already moved twice (both times further away) and still would not even consider changing our vet surgery They make Buggy feel so welcome which is really appreciated as he is quite an anxious boy Two days ago I came back home to a horror of him getting to a box of chocolate (in a very thick premium metal packaging which I can't even open from the first go & which was also higher up than anything he usually could get) and eating it all. Luckily, they were just opening, we had a quick call and they saw us straightaway They helped Buggy in now time and I could pick up my boy in less than 2 hours feeling great, looking energetic and happy (I don't know how they managed that as they needed to make him sick). He was happy to see me and rushed to go play with his ball (I assumed he'd be too tired and feel sorry for himself). The photos of him playing right after the pick-up Both the receptionist and the vet talked me through what was going to happen and how much it can cost before the procedures started and they made sure I was taken care of Really happy to have such a wonderful clinic, thank you!
