  We brought our dog here in an emergency after she went into severe heart failure. Her lungs and heart were filled with fluid and she was struggling to breathe. She has mitral valve disease that, unfortunately, had been completely overlooked and untreated by our regular vet. Dr Nick and the whole team were incredibly attentive and compassionate with our dog. He took the time to explain everything clearly, including the reality of her condition and the limited time she may have left because the disease had not been treated properly from the beginning. Yes, this place is expensive. Even being one of the more affordable emergency options in Glasgow, emergency veterinary care is still very costly. But the care, professionalism, and kindness our dog received here were truly exceptional. They saved her life, and gave us a little more time with her. We will always be grateful for that.

  Visited Emergency Vets Glasgow when my dog, Frost had a suspected intestinal blockage on a Saturday night. I was advised to come in immediately and was seen relatively quickly on arrival. Frost received a full work-up including a physical exam, blood tests, ultrasound, and X-rays. Once the obstruction was identified, surgery was carried out promptly. What really stood out was the level of communication throughout. Every step was clearly explained, from what they were assessing in the bloods (such as hydration status) to the surgical approach and stitching technique used. Both the operating surgeon and the vet who discharged Frost referenced current research and explained how this informed their decisions, which gave me a lot of confidence in the care provided. Despite this being a very stressful situation, I always felt informed and supported. I was given the information I needed to make decisions, without feeling overwhelmed, which helped me trust the team and feel reassured that I was making the best decisions for Frost. The surgery was successful, and I’m incredibly grateful for the speed, professionalism, and compassion shown throughout. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this practice in an emergency and would happily use them again. The only drawback is that payment is required upfront, even if you have insurance. I was fortunately able to cover the cost, but I appreciate this may not be possible for everyone. That said, the process was made as smooth as possible because the receptionist took my insurance details at the time of payment and said their team will handle the insurance request, which removed a lot of the admin on my side. And unlike my regular vet, there was no additional fee for this service, which I really appreciated.

  Very professional & caring team. Vet, Nick's knowledge of rabbits was first class, I knew my rabbit was in safe hands. Very thorough examination, time was taken to explain everything. I would not hesitate taking any of my animals (dog, 2 rabbits & 2 gerbils) to EVG, if they required treatment when our regular vet was closed. 100% recommend

  Called with an emergency for my dog. Call dealt with by a Lady called Fiona, very professional indeed. Arrived at the clinic whereupon assistance of tx the dog from the boot of the car to the ground. Thank you Fiona. The vet a lady called Emma was extremely professional giving my dog a good clinical assessment, adding in some additional information. Treatment given was the arthritis on the back right hip with follow up meds to be given. Kudos Emma for all your kind help and support. Overall this establishment performed exceptionally well taking into account the dog and owner. Thank you all again and kudos to you all
