  We are so glad we found this wonderful vets! Millie, our extremely anxious sprocker needed to be spayed. We had opted for a laparoscopic spay (keyhole surgery) due to the fact that it is minimally invasive with a faster recovery time. Bretby vets was the nearest one that did this proceedure. Millie came to us as a rehome at 6 months, and she's scared of everything from a hairbrush to the hoover! Throughout the procedure from booking to completion, the service has been fantastic. I was kept fully informed at every stage (excellent communication) including health updates and costs, and was given lots of information. Staff were very friendly, helpful and lovely with Millie. She can be reactive due to fear and insecurity when left, but staff were really patient, kind and understanding with her. The procedure itself has been fantastic. Within a few hours Millie was loads better, and back to her usual self. She seems in no discomfort and is straight back to her routine including eating and going to the loo! Such skillful work! We are delighted to have found such an excellent vets and will be using Bretby from now on. On a practical note, there is plenty of parking and we spent our morning in the lovely garden centre next door, so that we could be on hand to collect Millie asap. So convenient and a pleasant experience considering! Thankyou to all the staff at Bretby Vets.

  I can’t recommend this vets enough - the entire team is kind, welcoming and considerate. Anna in particular is one of the best vets I’ve personally dealt with, she clearly has a great deal of knowledge but also takes the time to understand the pet (in my case cats!) and what would be best for their needs. Well priced and never pushy, it’s clear that they’re not trying to upsell anything (something that unfortunately I’ve experienced elsewhere) and just genuinely care about the animal. Absolutely would recommend!

  Emmie who’s 11 months came in for a spay operation and was looked after really well. Given lots of cuddles and reassurance I can’t thank the team at Vets at Bretby enough for taking such good care of her . We have been back for one follow up appointment so far and Emmie is still excited to visit . Highly recommended Vets at Bretby , the team are amazing and Emmie loves them all .

  I am really impressed with Vets At Bretby, I was apprehensive about moving from her previous vets as my dog has multiple conditions to manage. I decided to switch over, and they have been amazing. I joined their Healthy Paws Plan and that has more than paid for itself. They fitted her in very quickly when she raided a bin and scoffed a Peshwari naan. I see their vet nurse team a lot more than her previous vets, which is amazing as they are really good and help manage her mobility. They respond on email, they offer a lot of advice and they listen to all of my word-spaghetti of sentences. The waiting room is spacious, and I haven't had to wait outside with her as a lot of practices haven't got the space to accomodate for reactive dogs. I'm glad they have the space to offer this.

  Mabel, my 11 month old cockapoo went to the Vets at Bretby for her spay yesterday. Massive thankyou to Chloe, who was great with Mabel (and me!!) before Mabel went for her op. She answered all my questions and made me feel at ease about the whole procedure. Thankyou to Kieran, who carried out Mabel’s procedure, she was clearly in safe hands. And thankyou to Lauren, who called me when Mabel was done and handed Mabel back over to me when I collected her. I thought the fact you rang to check up the next morning was really thoughtful and showed the care that the team put in even after the procedure was done.
