Recently left and moved to GoPets. I was with Sussex Coast for 4 years and never had any reason to urgently use them but i took my dog for an annual check up, mentioned that he does seem to itch his ears a lot. They examined him, took some swabs, and concluded that he had maybe previously had ear infections. But no infection now. They added that they would provide some ear drops to help with the itching. These were provided as I left and the receptionist said It was £50 for the drops. ‘£50”i repeated back to her….. “Expensive isn’t it” she answered back to me. I paid and left. At home I googled the drops/brand and I could have got it online, including delivery for £15. Next day I cancelled my monthly subscription with them. And have now moved to another vets. I did mention the drops experience to someone and they responded “well you are paying for their professional expertise”. I agree, hence they should have said “there’s no current infection, there are some ear drops we could offer you but it would be far cheaper for you to get them online, as they are not prescription only” And adding to that, this visit was an annual check which was part of my £25 per month subscription. That’s £300 a year. So I’d say I was already paying for their professional expertise. Final point. Getting the quarterly worming and flee treatment (included with my subscription) with Sussex Coast Vets was always a faff. For example i told them that my dog would not eat the tablets, and they gave me the drops for the flee treatment. But unless i reminded them each time I reordered id just get the tablets again not the drops. Plus they’d frequently be waiting for stock or other issues, and they never sent reminders that you needed to reorder. This all said i never needed to use their services, as my dog was healthy. But that one time they did “try to help” left me feeling like I’d been taken advantage of.

There wasn’t an option for 0 stars so i’ll have to settle for 1. There’s no words to describe how shocking this vet practice is. July 2024 my dog has a small hotspot on his skin which eventually spread over his whole body. Got lied to by a certain male vet here who said he was a skin specialist, only to see a different female vet the next time we went in who told us they don’t have skin specialists there. July 2025 they finally get a brain cell together to think of the idea to do a skin biopsy for my dogs condition, only to find out they were a year too late and he had a rare skin cancer. Complained to the practice manager about the lack of care and neglect towards my dog. Complaint got ignored and they tried to bribe us by giving us free medication. It wasn’t enough. Our dog had to eventually be put to sleep because of the neglect from this practice. If you want to pay 1000’s of pounds for them to kill your pet then this is the vets for you. Not only are they liars, they have no care for animals, no compassion for owners and apparently no common sense. Disgusting place. We complained back in October last year and as of mid january 2026 - we are still waiting on a reply. What a joke

They are an amazing practice. Our cat was hit by a car and left outside their practice, they got in contact with us, broke the news with compassion and sympathy. Then they allowed us time to come and view him and didnt rush us out the door. The most thoughtful part was that they helped us with the cremation. My daughter wanted to bring him home so they arranged for him to be taken to peacehaven and for him to be brought back as I do not drive. Now we have him back, paw prints and some of his fur. My daughter is so glad to have him home in one form or another and its all because of Sussex vets without them he would of just been thrown away and they did all this without making any money or having us as patients with them. Absolutley amazing.

We had to say goodbye to our beautiful little dog 'Harry' on Monday. He was nearly 16 and had become poorly quite quickly. SCV were very kind to us and empathic with the situation that we were faced with. Our dog had a very peaceful and dignified end of life with no pain, and we thank you for that. Mr and Mrs Gale.
