Read on Google →My wife booked-in our 2 dogs with Riverside online for their annual vaccinations. She then followed-up with a phone call to confirm the booking. She was then called back 2 hours later by Riverside to be told that as we are new Customers they can only vaccinate the dogs if we register the dogs to a monthly payment plan with them. Depending on coverage the cost of the monthly plan ranges between £22 and £66 pounds per month (for both dogs). Note: The payment plan is over and above the cost of the dog vaccinations. At the time the online booking was made there was no mention of compulsory new customer payment plan. My wife politely declined to these demands so the vets then cancelled our bookings. This type of dishonesty within veterinary profession that further underpins the recent findings conducted by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) whose investigation concluded the need for major reforms and transparency within veterinary practices including: Legally binding measures include price lists, prescription fee caps, a price comparison website and mandatory branding by the large groups to boost competition and drive down prices Pet owners using a vet practice that is part of a larger chain can expect to see changes before Christmas – including standard price lists Until these reforms are implemented, practices such as Riverside will continue to financially ‘milk dry’ both new and existing customers as they see fit.
Read on Google →A very disappointing response from Riverside Vets when a puppy turned up at Cantref Primary school during school pick up. We managed to catch it and hang around to wait and see if any one showed up looking for it but nobody did. As Riverside Vets was closest I was recommended to take her there. A friend kindly looked after my son whilst I delt with the puppy. On arrival at Riverside I explained what had happened and they checked to see if the dog was tagged but unfortunately it wasn't. They then told me that the dog was now my responsibility and that if I left it there I would be abandoning the dog. I was very shocked by the response. I explained I couldn't take it home as I already have a dog but they said I needed to ring those dog pound. I understand it is a tricky situation for all involved and it required everyone to go above and beyond but a really disappointing community spirit from Riverside Vets. Fortunately after I had walked out (quite upset by their response, and having "abandoned" the puppy) the owner arrived in their car. I walked back in to explain this was the owner and someone tried to start lecturing me again but I didn't stay to hear it. A really upsetting experience.
