Always get a warm welcome and each vet I've seen has been pleasant and handled my cat Minnie with care. I like the separate waiting areas for cats and dogs.
Read on Google →We're do i start, our dog jasper was diagnosed with diabetes 5/6 weeks ago. He was 12 years old... We had lots of visits to the practice etc. Sometimes 3 times a week. When jasper was diagnosed with diabetes we were shown how to administer the insulin.. We were advised to only move the insulin bottle side to side. ( not to shake ) We injected jasper for approximately 5 weeks with the insulin and carried out the instructions not to shake the insulin bottle. Unfortunately jasper did not respond to the insulin and was deteriating week by week. Things were not looking good so a few days before jasper was put to sleep I did some research on the insulin jasper was receiving.. To my shock and horror I read the type of insulin jasper was receiving was different from other insulin and needed to be shook until there was a froth on top of the liquid before the injection was given. We had an appointment that day at the vets and I made my findings clear to the vet on duty ....we had not been advised to shake the insulin ( we had been advised via the practice not to shake the insulin) The vet said there must have been a change in the administration of the insulin obviously they weren't aware of this. She then said would it be ok if they kept jasper in overnight... free of charge...but she would need to get confirmation from the manager that this was ok. We returned to the vets later that evening with jasper as requested. With his food insulin. bed and toy. And I made a note for the nurse/vet that the insulin MUST be shaken.. The following morning we were called and told there was no change to jasper even though the insulin had been shaken.. Sadly that day we had to put jasper to sleep. We we're and are heartbroken 💔 I'm more concerned we were given the incorrect administration of the insulin... the practice and vets / nurses advised. Jasper could possibly be alive today if we had been given the correct administration of the insulin. Unfortunately jasper had deteriorated over the week's. We have had two weeks without Jasper and had alot of time to think. We were given the incorrect administration of the insulin. The worry is are the vets / nurse's qualified and upto date with procedures... Today the 11.2.26 we took one of our other dogs to have her kennel cough vaccination......only to be told when I was paying my bill... I owed £8.00 for the disposal of jasper's insulin ( used needles). I was mortified and completely shocked. Where is the compassion... We paid hundreds of pounds to get Jasper fit... and would have paid any amount to get him well and here with us right now. My biggest concern is.??? We were given incorrect advice. And that is very worry. And I would like some answers. Michelle kay.
Read on Google →Ribble Vets have been brilliant. After having quite a scary situation with my cat a few nights ago I managed to get an appointment the following morning to see a vet. Vet was lovely and caring. My cat definitely seemed trusting towards the vet which is an uncommon sight as she’s quite nervous in general. I moved vets to here a few years ago after a bad experience at our old vet but we have never needed to visit until now and I’m very glad we did move. Amazing and caring staff!
Read on Google →I'm grateful to have such an attractive helpful independent vets close to home which always manage to fit us in on the same day. We unfortunately go here alot due to ill pets but I feel they don't rip your off and are upfront with costs. I only ever speak to the reception staff, occasionally the pharmacy staff and I'm pretty sure I've met all the vet surgeons and nurses by now 😂 especially Alison (she's great). There is plenty of parking and a nice modern building with lots of space in the waiting area for cats and dogs, which are segregated.
Read on Google →We had to use Ribble Vets out of hours service on Boxing day as our usual vets was closed. We were very anxious as our elderly dog was very poorly and we knew that it was time to let her go. The vet on duty (sorry didnt ask her name as we were too upset) was exceptionally kind and caring which made a very difficult experience much easier. We cant thank her enough.
