Rhian has been treating my cat for heart problems. She has been incredibly patient as he is not the easiest of patients! Medivet Leckhampton use cat friendly approaches so my cat had a calming drug to make everything less stressful for him. They have separate cat and dog waiting areas and also separate cattery and kennel areas so cats are not housed near the dogs. My cat even had a hidey house to curl up in and feel safe and was fed lick e lixs whilst having a heart scan (I wish I was fed whilst having ultrasounds)! Whilst before my cat required sedation to do anything, he now doesn’t as has learnt the vets are not as scary as they seem with their fear free approach. As an owner this is so important to me as I have seen practices use outdated rough handling to ‘get the job done’. Rhian was very clear with everything she was going to do and Scrufts treatment plan. She went into detail of exactly what was wrong so I could understand and know Scrufts will need life long treatment. I am very happy with the service I received at Medivet Leckhampton. From the friendly receptionist Tanya, to the nursing team providing care and the amazing vets who have treated a lot of my animals over 11years. Although now a corporate, the care I have received from when it was an independent vets has not changed and a lot of the staff are still present.

Medical care was fine, but Medivet are too focused on profit. I've been with this vets for 5 years and only started looking elsewhere when the CMA pointed out that the chain vets were engaged in a few too many dodgy practices. It turns out that there are a number of vets who offer lower price and better care. My dog is terrified of vets. It wasn't always like this, it was only after her first surgery here. Now when I drop her off for surgery she's shaking uncontrollably. Several things I've learnt discussing this with a different vet, the 8AM drop off is to make scheduling easier for the vets at the cost of the pets comfort. For me, the thought of my dog shaking in fear for several hours before surgery was terrible. At my new independent vets, you can get them there in time for surgery, not a blanket 8AM. I was also impressed to learn that they have separate rooms for cats and dogs and the cages aren't metal so they don't rattle. As a bonus, they're also cheaper and the CMA haven't got an open case against them for profiteering! Short version, I've found a new vet who will be more focused on my dog and less on profit. I encourage you to investigate alternate options too.

Took my elderly whippet for a nail trim and dental check. He was very thoroughly looked over and the nurse even found and removed a tick. I was very pleased with the experience.

Always friendly and supportive. Very professional. Really appreciate that Alison and her team understands the dachshund breed - many vets are not so up to date with breed information. We had a few stressful times with our pup and everyone is always so professional, friendly and happy to help and advise. We are very happy with the practise and would highly recommend.
