  Sadly we found a dead kitten outside Whauphill today, so we took it to Machars Vets who care for our kittens. This little creature was given the same care and dignity that ours are given. The way the vet took it from my arms was so tenderly done. Glad this little one will be treated kindly even in death. I hope it is microchipped and the owner can be informed.

  Absolutely fantastic experience with Machars Vet. The team offers a friendly and personal service that immediately puts both pets and owners at ease. The facilities are excellent—housed in a spacious, modern building that’s clearly been designed with comfort and care in mind. What really stands out is how much they genuinely care, not just about the animals, but about the people who love them too. Their knowledge across all stages of pet care is exceptional, and they take the time to explain everything clearly. Prices are very reasonable, especially considering the quality of care. And it's refreshing—finally, a veterinary practice that's actually owned and run by vets, not some faceless private equity firm. You can really feel the difference. Truly can’t fault a thing.   While we were on holiday in the area our dog developed a health problem. The vet at Bladnoch was the nearest practice so we rang asking for an appointment. Three quarters of an hour later we were in the surgery and half an hour after that she had had a thorough examination, a diagnosis and prescribed antibiotics. The vet was lovely and gentle with her and talked to her all the time. I was very impressed with the service we received and am happy to recommend this practice to others. 🐕‍🦺 🧑🏻‍⚕️

  We find Machars to be very professional and helpful from the great girls at reception to the vets themselves, they are friendly, helpful their knowledge is extremely high and they care which is what an owner looks for. Elenor is really great with Louis who’s condition is challenging to say the least, she always explains things thoroughly and we never feel rushed. So thanks all from the Porters and Lou -bear!
