Booked as a new customer as our original Vet had been very unhelpful with our 10 year old Husky who was having skin problems causing her to chew her fur away . Reception called to confirm booking I’d made online and even called our old Vets tonight get Dakotas records transferred over when I explained how badly I’d been spoken to. Dakota now so much more comfortable and had such a lovely experience with the vet and all the other staff , I know she will look forward to returning for any other health issues she may have. I’d give 10 🌟 if I could ! Brilliant service, Well done Lyndon Vets you’re doing everything so well ! Thank you from Dakota too 🐾

No longer recommended due to the uncaring, rude and unprofessional staff. My original review still stands as far as the vets themselves are concerned but the rest of the staff appear friendly until you have a problem, then their treatment towards you completely changes. This is my original review..."Lydon Vets are fabulous, not the cheapest but well worth the extra. The vets are wonderful and caring and the rest of the staff are so friendly and welcoming. They really do care for animals more than money and try to keep costs down as much as they can without skimping on care. I can't recommend them enough"... Unfortunately there has been an incident that has changed my mind about the practice as a whole. A while ago we rescued a cat from our gully. She was very ill with cat flu type of symptoms and an extremely swollen abdomen. We took her to Lydon's vets to check her chip. They told us that the contract numbers were unobtainable. We paid for treatment for both the fllu and what we were told, fluids in her stomach. We took her home treated her, fed her kept her warm, started to cut out some of the mats in her fur and tlc. After she finished the treatment and the flu symptoms were okay, we took her back to the vets suspicious that she was actually pregnant. The vet scanned her and confirmed she was pregnant and didn't have fluid in her stomach. We took her home and looked after her for another 3 months approximately returning her again with chronic diarrhoea. The vets told us that she probably caught a bacterial infection from cleaning her kittens. She was treated for this and she soon became well enough to be neutered. We booked her in paid the deposit and early in the morning of the neutering we dropped her off and went home. That was the last time we saw her... After going to the vets 3 times before this and paying for the treatment she needed, looking after her and her kittens until they were all fit and well they decided to 'check the chip' again. They told me they'd found her original owners, stopped the neutering, were rude and uncaring and wouldn't let us see her. I was told to just collect her cat carrier and accept a refund for the deposit. We weren't allowed to see her. Their attitude was like they were accusing me of stealing her. I put in a complaint but they neither did anything or apologise. Now I still recommend the actual vets as they are amazing but the other staff are not the nice people they used to be and the receptionist was extremely unprofessional adding that chipped animals can not be strays again making me feel like I was being accused of theft of an animal. Turns out that the cat herself is a Maine coon, lots of money to be made??? After adding more to my review I received a letter from the practice manager. The date on the letter is 8/12/2025 before my edited review, but the post mark on the envelope is dated 17/12/2025 after my edited review, the letter was sent 1st class signed for so it came quickly. Now like I have already mentioned, the vets themselves are great, absolutely no complaints about them. It's the other staff that let the practice down. Photos of the envelope and letter to follow. The practice does not like bad reviews I will be contacting the VCMS which is a mediation association to help with complaints as we still highly rated the actual vet themselves. I am also disabled and they are our nearest vets where I am physically able to get to, they also know this. You can view the photos of the letter sent if you click on the 'my babies' round icon at the top of the review if you are interested. It actually mentions that my relationship with the vets has broken down when actually this isn't true, it's the rest of the staff and once again I'd like to reliterate I have no problems with the care given by the vets. My problem is the way we have been treated with regards to the the cat we rescued from our gully.

We have been coming to Lydons for decades. They have always been amazing whether for routine appointments or for unexpected ones. They will always offer you an honest opinion about whether treatment would be in your pets best interest which I greatly appreciate. Rory is so friendly and his love for all animals is clear to see. Thank you for all that you do.

Could not recommend this vets practice any higher, they fitted us in as and emergency within 2 hours of calling and Rory went above and beyond to get us the treatment needed, although he wasn't able to treat our pet he went out of his way to find somewhere that could with very short notice. If i could give more starts i would. Thank you Lydons impeccable care.
