I would not recommend this practice. I signed up for Vax4life about 14 years ago for a one off payment which included a nurse check every 6 months. For the past 5 years this practice has basically engaged in upselling whenever I brought a dog in (new ownership does not change poor practice it merely escalates it). Relatively simple matters are quickly escalated. Constipation requires bloods and an x-ray for an elderly dog rather than starting with just a laxative (it turned out they did not have liquid paraffin in stock—a standard laxative - costs pennies so instead a £50 rectal laxative). When I sought a second opinion at another veterinary practice it was colitis - I turned up in bits worried it was bowel cancer (due to the earlier consultation). The other vet - said 'No very unlikely in a dog this age.' Within minutes he had diagnosed colitis, dispensed medication which worked within 24 hours. Every appointment at the Farnborough branch is accompanied with the firm suggestion that the dog 'requires a dental'. Luckily my other vets (which I consider far superior to Farnborough Vets4Pets) when I say 'does he require a dental?' His teeth are checked and I am told 'No his teeth are great - amazing for his age - any reason you think he requires a dental?' Every year when we came in for his vaccines, we were pressed to have the kennel cough vaccination. Eventually, I agreed, and within hours he developed kennel cough and subsequently pneumonia. Since then, he has developed a collapsing trachea. I asked specifically that this adverse event be reported via the VMD Yellow Card Scheme and requested confirmation/feedback that this had been done. I received no follow-up. On top of all of this they act like being a customer with Vets4Pets requires fidelity in all matters - god forbid if you seek alternative treatment for a pet due to convenience (e.g. another practice can fit you in). You get a naughty mark against your name and a call from Maria to tell you off and suggest that you go to the other practice instead if you like it so much. Staff are rude. Staff fail to follow up - repeatedly. I personally tell every fellow dog owner I know not to go to this practice. They are overpriced, overzealous in suggesting expensive and arduous treatments and overrated. I would advise looking carefully at their Google Reviews and filtering them so that their most recent reviews come up first. It paints a different picture! Save yourself and go elsewhere. I am now having to go through the Vet Mediation Scheme with this practice over something which should have been a relatively simple matter.

Not great. Went in for a routine check of a lump on my dog’s underside… appointment was over in 10 mins and promised follow-up email was not provided. Would not recommend.

Absolutely incredible vets. I haven’t been there long, but the experience I have had already due to concerns for my dog have been amazing. I have a very nervous dog, and the staff attended to his needs perfectly, greeting him before the appointment and comforting him in the calmest manner throughout the appointment. Truly grateful for this practice and looking forward to Blue’s care being in their hands if anything is to ever happen.

Just shameful. After getting attitude from the staff in the front desk, we requested to speak to the manager Clare. OMG! after speaking to her we understood the attitude in the whole team. It trickles down from the top. Her own words were “this conversation is not going anywhere”. She refused to hear us out and help us. The vets are incompetent. Be very careful what you share. Because they write up the diagnosis incorrectly which will affect your beautiful pet and your insurance. Stay away from this institution.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I reached out to this clinic explaining that I was feeling anxious and worried about bringing my pet, due to previous experiences at other vet practices, I was hoping for understanding and support. Instead, I received an email essentially telling me to go elsewhere—cold, dismissive, and completely lacking in empathy. The experience made it clear that their priority is not the wellbeing of animals or their humans, but money. In a time of stress and vulnerability, I was met with indifference. Pets and the people who care for them deserve better.
