I visited a couple of times in late November/early December with our poorly hen Pinky, who was suffering from bumblefoot and an underlying condition we never quite got to dealing with. I know that caring for hens is a specialist skill and we took Pinky to the Mirfield branch because we had heard such good reports from other customers. I was not disappointed and was greatly touched by the care and compassion shown to us by the reception staff and the vets, who really did go above and beyond what I might have expected. We managed to sort out the foot infection but our girl, who had grown very weak, didn't survive long enough for us to sort out her other issues. Losing a pet is always upsetting (and we have lost a few hens through illness over the past 10 or 12 years), but the team at Donaldson's did all they could and we greatly appreciate their efforts. Sadly, sometimes nature just has to take its course!

Exceptional care for our cat Otto during his FIP treatment” We can’t thank Kate at Donaldson’s Vets, Mirfield, enough for the incredible care and compassion she has shown our cat, Otto, throughout his battle with FIP. From the very first diagnosis, Kate has been knowledgeable, patient, and supportive — guiding us through what felt like an impossible situation with kindness and professionalism. She explained every step of Otto’s treatment clearly, kept us updated on his progress, and genuinely celebrated every milestone with us. Thanks to her dedication and expertise, Otto is now happy, healthy, and back to his playful self. We’re beyond grateful to have Kate looking after him — she truly goes above and beyond for both pets and owners. Highly recommend her to anyone facing FIP or any complex feline condition.

Thank you so much to Zack for picking up on Baby’s heart murmur after two vets missed it!! (Not Donaldson’s). Somerset Road were also brilliant and my little boy is home and fine. ❤️ Donaldson’s may not be the cheapest but the vets are brilliant and I completely trust them with all 3 of my babies. Thank you.

Andy has cared for my own and rescued animals for over 10 years. From birth to death, I can say they have had kind and compassionate treatment. I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else.
