I take my ferrets here, every single tome Darlington vet clinic help us with their best ability and our ferrets(mainly our polecat Eric) Absolutely adores the nurses and loves a cuddle (Lucy our albino is way too hyper) and they love them. They’re quite cheap too so I do recommend them especially if you have ferrets or any other small cute critter. Dogs and cats do also come to this clinic and I always see people with a smile walk out the door, myself included.

My two dogs, Lola and Willow have been registered here since last December after a move from Stanhope. The care we have received has always been exceptional, the staff genuinely love animals and care for them. This review is about today, Monday 1st December. Willow needed to go for a scale and polish under general anaesthetic. Firstly, we had a free consultation a couple of months ago to ascertain what she needed doing. Then I was called by a nurse to book Willow in. I called the vets last Friday as Willow is quite a nervous dog and is always used to being with her sister. I was apprehensive about her being left for long periods of time. The receptionist I spoke to was so considerate, instead of the original 830 drop off time, it was changed to 915 and Willow was to be the first appointment at 0930. She also said that they would call me to pick her up as soon as she was ready. I was then sent an information leaflet and consent form via email. Today, when we arrive at the vets, we were seen straight away, I went over the paperwork with a lovely nurse. The nurse offered for me to go with Willow when she had her pre- med which was lovely. We went into a separate room, Willow had her pre-med and the nurse gave me a blanket that Willow could sit on, on my knee, whilst she went to sleep. I was left with Willow whilst the pre med worked. We were checked on 3x by another lovely member of staff who even offered me a cup of tea whilst I waited. There was no rush and everyone was so kind and compassionate. After 15 minutes the nurse came back through, had a look in Willow’s mouth whilst she was docile and then took Willow wrapped up in the blanket into theatre. I left the vets feeling so reassured that Willow was in the best hands and had so far suffered minimal distress. I was called when Willow’s surgery had finished and given a time to collect her. I was reassured if she became really anxious, they would call me to come in earlier. I collected Willow and was given post op instructions. I also needed to change some bank details for the pet plan and the receptionist couldn’t have been more helpful. Thank you all so much for making this as stress and anxiety free as possible for both Willow and I. 100% recommend.

I registered my 3 dogs with the West Auckland practice over a year ago and it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have had dogs the majority of my life (approx 45 years) and my pups and I have never received such care before. Like most people, my dogs are my world and I'll do everything in my power to keep them healthy and well. Every member of staff I've met at both sites of DVC, has been professional and empathic. The care my pups have received should rank amongst the most expensive, however it is not. Their fees are very low compared to the larger vets in the area. And my personal experience is that they offer what your best friend needs and not what costs the most. I don't often write reviews, however to not acknowledge them would be to do a disservice to them. I also don't want to gate-keep them, I 100% recommend you register at this clinic, your pets and your wallet will thank you x

Accidentally inherited a chicken with a bit of a limp and scaley leg mites. They booked me in the same day. I arrived half an hour early and I was seen immediately. The vet (Richard, I believe) gave me a adecent bit of time and recommended a couple of off the shelf products to treat the mites and disinfect her barn. To my amazement I was only charged a tenner. I couldn't be more impressed.

My cat had been hit by a car. The staff were so attentive to her and really looked after her until the end when unfortunately she had to be put down due to having a broken pelvis. We were able to spend some time with her. If I was to get another pet I would really recommend this vets. The staff are so kind and understanding and treat your pet as part of your family.
