Lovely friendly vets. We've changed to here after Oaklands (Yarm) stopped caring for the livestock side to focus in on Equine and pet care, and referred us to Castle Vets. I only use them for livestock, as they're a bit far off for me, but they've been very helpful and slotted me in, even when I've rocked up unannounced in emergency mode! Had a couple of pet lambs here, and the vets were sympathetic and explained pricing and care as they went, without me having to probe around for how much injections and whatnot would cost. They also do callouts, and have vets working daily all over the North East, so they've been a great help with whatever can't be bundled into the car, too. They send any medication ordered to Oaklands for us still, as that's more convenient for us to go and pick up, which is a great help.

The treatment my mother received for her dog was excellent. Having to get the dog put to sleep on new years eve, we were treat with kindness and compassion and given plenty of time. Sincere thanks to Jonathon and the nurse (sorry I didn't get her name) for their professional approach in making a difficult experience that little bit easier to bear.

Helpful and very friendly staff. In recent weeks we've had to go in a few times with our dog with worry about his cough. When he deteriorated very quickly they did a bunch of tests like XRays, ultrasound, blood tests etc and worked out what was going on. They did this within a couple of hours of us bringing him in. Good that they have facilities on site at Barnard Castle to do this; and for us we're glad that they've a local surgery at St Helens. Thank you ❤️
