  Dominic has been caring for my miniature schnauzer since he was a puppy. I noticed my furbaby wasn’t eating and seemed to be in pain when he opened his mouth. Within two seconds of my describing his symptoms Dominic had diagnosed that it was a grass seed in his ear drum and upon examination proved that it was. Dominic put him under sedation and in 20 minutes had removed it. My boy is now more comfortable and back to eating. Thank you to both Dominic and the amazing nurse for taking care of Farrokh under sedation and while he was coming around. Thank you so much.

  Unfortunately, my experience with Blackheath Veterinary Surgery was very disappointing. I had recently returned to the UK with my dog, who had developed a skin infection likely caused by new environmental allergens. When I booked the appointment, I was told that because she had come from overseas she would need a Brucella test costing around £220. I had no issue with this, I had already spent a significant amount ensuring all the correct import tests and paperwork were completed, and I was happy to comply with any UK requirements. However, I explained that my dog needed to be seen urgently because of her skin condition. I was told I would only need to wait outside while the Brucella test results came back, so I paid the consultation fee and asked for a pro forma invoice for the testing. It was only at that point that it became clear the sample would actually need to be sent to a laboratory. After calling to clarify, I was informed the results would take around two weeks. Waiting two weeks with an active skin infection wasn't an option, so I cancelled the consultation before it took place. The practice agreed that the communication around the Brucella testing should have been clearer and also agreed to refund my consultation fee. That was over a month ago. Despite several follow-up emails and being repeatedly told that someone would get back to me, I have still not received the agreed refund. Mistakes happen, but poor communication followed by a failure to honour an agreed refund has left me very disappointed.

  We had a great first visit at the Surgery. The service was exceptional from scheduling through to the consultation. The staff were warm, welcoming and friendly, and Dr Kiersten Reinhart was professional and thorough. Thank you 🐾

  ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely the best service I’ve ever had! I had a fantastic experience at Blackheath Veterinary Surgery. It was so easy to get a quick appointment, and their long opening hours make it really convenient. My kitten received such a warm welcome on her first visit — she even got a lovely pack of treats and toys! The team was friendly, caring, and professional. Highly recommend this practice to any pet owner.

  Exceptional clinic! Doctor Gav was simply brilliant, attentive and caring and she pulled out two grass seeds from my baby Archie’s ears smoothly! I can’t recommend enough the clinic staff are amazing and super friendly! Plus my boy got treats and was not scared at all by the vet visit! Thanks so much!
