  Vets can be great, until they're really not. Our 10 year old dog was piddling inside, unusually. It coincided with a new dog who was doing the same, so slightly confusing picture. S tested urine and diagnosed a urinary infection, but there was pain when he squeezed her. An x ray showed a mass on her pancreas. S said he would operate but needed to sort out the urinary infectoon. I was concerned at this point as she was deteriorating to a point which didn't make sense to me but my concerns were batted away. She began to be very dehydrated and S asked to keep her over the weekend for fluids. And to see If she would drink and wee. I was assured she'd be checked on regularly, and we'd get updates. We heard nothing. The phone was unanswered all weekend. Noone checked in with us. On Monday, I spoke to the veterinary assistant and asked if she was OK, if she'd been able to pee. The VA stated "hard to say, she was covered in diarrhoea'. 😪 When we came to see her, she was disoriented, her face and paws were swollen with all the fluids. All the paste theyd been giving was stuck, fetid, in her gums and cheeks. It was distressing. We took her home, and rang a vet for time visit. She was in kidney failure, would have been for days. She said that she would never operate on a pancreas of a 10 year old dog. Sadly, M was in such distress we had to say goodbye, knowing her last 4 days, having never been away from us, were spent at that vets, in the condition she was. Heartbreaking. We didn't receive a bill.

  Would give zero stars if I could. Had several negative experiences with the vet, reception staff are absolutely lovely but the vet himself is often rude and rather careless about the animals as if they are just another cheque to him. with my youngest dog he is terrified of the table they have as it is so slippery and wobbly and vet refuses to do anything to accommodate my dog always forcing us to restrain him! He’s now absolutely terrified of the vets and he’s a 25kg 2 foot tall dog, certainly too big to be put on the table! My oldest dog is very sick, was told we couldn’t have an emergency euthanasia because he hasn’t actually collapsed yet! Disgusting treatment. Would take my pets literally anywhere else.

  Simon and team are an outstanding vetinary practice who go above and beyond to care for our animals! Our lurcher Bruno loves going to see Simon and co. He even forgets he's poorly sometimes. It's great knowing that our animals are in safe hands. Highly recommend.

  Simon quite simply saved Freddie’s life. After months at a chain of vets who failed to cure our dog, within 2-3 weeks he was back to himself at less than half the cost of one appt at Harrison’s! Simon cannot be faulted. He is there to please the animal, not the owner.

  My dog ate food that was potentially poisonous, I rang the vets and they asked me to go straight there, I took my dog there and was treated amazingly, they took him in for the day, sorted him out, and sent us home with his medication and booked him in for a check up in a couple of days. I was surprised that the cost of this was so reasonable considering it was pretty much treated as an emergency. I spoke to Simon, the amazing women on reception and his wife, all treated me with respect. Thank you Acorn.
