  Absoluetly amazing service, we took our little dog Jess here who had breating problems. After scans and x rays we discovered she had a huge tumour and she was to be put to sleep. The staff were so helpful and empathetic allowing all of my children to visit her and give her cuddles before she had to go. Thank you for being amazing and looking after our little Jess dog.

  DO NOT GO TO THESE VETS. *** Updated on 30/03/2026. This Vets has once again showed how despicable they are. I have found a new vet who I trust to give my Dog, the care and help he needs and I have requested his record from White Oaks Vets. They have not responded to my emails! ***DO NOT GO TO THESE VETS** They are only interested in taking your money. If they cared anything about your pet, regardless of that situation, they would send their record to the new Vets to help with his care. **THEY HAVE NOT AND IGNORED MY REQUEST FOR THIS INFORMATION?? DESPICABLE!!! They tried to put my dog down without any diagnosis or blood tests. He’s still bouncing around 2 months later!! I paid for a scan to ‘check his vital organs’ only to pay for the scan and when they came out they said they only checked outside the said vital organs!! Absolutle scammers!! Watch out for this pair….they should be working at an undertakers!! Lizzie and Charlie, hang your heads in shame!! What an absolute, shady and unscrupulous practice this is. I have just got home from this place and I cannot tell you how much I want to warn you all to steer clear. I should have done so myself. Booked an appointment and offered one same day, fine with that, £65 for consultant, a little expensive compared to others, but still fine with that. 20 mins in this consultant and I have be presented with first option… on top of £65 I need to pay £180 bloods for same day results and 100 for Ultra Sound. So total price £345. I said no to that, and Vet said, I would at least recommend, getting the Ultra Scan done. I asked how much and she said, £100, so I said, £165 and she nodded and said yes. Anyway, I agreed that and asked to return in 15 minutes so dog could have scan. Went back in, and told it was a minor scan so could not check all major organs properly (lied to on what we were paying for…a ultra scan to check all organ) to cut a long story short, to be then be told, is heart and lungs are fine, however, his gallbladder is a little bit swollen, so with regards to getting bloods done which we’re £180 15 minutes earlier, she could now do them for £100 quid if we sent them away and pay more for proper scan!! Anyway, declined. I was in barely 40 minutes and was already £165 in…and is the best worse bit. I went to pay and they asked for £177 pound! Now I know it is not 12 quid and when I questioned them they said the scan which was agreed £100. Was now around a £100 and was now £111.50!! A almost 12% increase!! These are peopl are worse than dentists, play on your emotions and are increasing agreed costs as soon as you are ready to pay. That is all I need to say. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!! It is a unscrupllous, Shady, shady place. Charlie and Lizzie…hang your head in shame!! And this is what I have just received.. 2-3 hours after my review. I have just watch my dog walk unaided, up to his food, drank his water, and head to the door for his wee! And..remember … they have not took blood tests, they have not done an ultra scan… although I paid a £100 to do so and… they admitted they didn’t !!! And get this..   After losing my dogs brother 6 months ago due to hip dysplasia my girl his sister started limping, alarmed I saw vet, I was tearful and very upset that girl may have same crippling condition. got bloods done about 250, next step 4 xrays of hips and anesthetic quote was needed. Been doing dog self funding rescue and rehoming over 20 years, many medical bills paid for by myself Was shockto be quote 1200 plus. I explained I felt that was horrendous price. I was told with a gentle sweet voice, bills have gone up, staff wages have gone up etc. I bookrd my dog in and then phoned 3 other vets in area askingfor a price quote. The cheapest was 750, the 800 and last one was 860 max. The white Lion had a very bad reputation of over pricing and continue unnecessary of medication on a lot of its review. White Oak vets is a take over of white Lion, theyve just moved to Peterlee. Im disgusted that they appear to be continuing down the same road as White Lion was. Having people over an emotional barrel and then trying over charge even with a sweat caring voice is blood boiling. Please always ask for price before agreeing anything no matter how caring they seem. Shop around, you don't have to stay at any vets. I've just saved myself 400 hundred pounds by making 3 calls. Sadly in my view vets services are turning into a money sucking industry when you are at your most emotionally upset and vulnerable time when your fur baby is unwell. I feel I have been knocked down by a car and someone has tried to rob me. All my phone calls are recorded and happy to provide evidence of this experience. It seems it cheaper to use euthanasia rather than an xray. Only rich foolish people will be able to afford pets. Sadly vets comments suggest im emotional and poor. No im angry at being overcharged or ripped off by people, services that are suppose to help with a fair price. As a person that has self funded over 30k of treatment for rescued dogs over last 7 years alone, I have a good understand of prices of vets. Please see pic of bill I have paid for 4 xrays and service for same treatment I was quoted by White Oak vets at 1200. Please note 644 pounds opposed to their quote of 1200. Please shop around and learn. I would not return to this vets even if it was free, they have shown their true colours.

  Took our 13 Year Siberian husky with mouth issues, was told that he needed 5-9 teeth out and he had gingivitis. It turns out when we took him to get his teeth out, that he actually has a mass at the back of his mouth. The VET did not even check his mouth words of the VET its hard to check in a dogs mouth. Really!! I find this statement absolutely ridiculous. If a Vet cannot check your dogs mouth to get the right diagnosis they shouldn't be a VET. Also they told us that they start with the most common diagnosis first. This Vet should be struck off, consequently now due to the wrong diagnosis we now have to wait for dog to go in for his biopsy and find out what this is... We have waited over a week for this due to incompetent VETS....

  Couldn’t fault them if I tried! The ladies at White Oak Vets have been fabulous, especially Charlotte! Who has made my kitty cats experience at the dreaded vets as calm and friendly as possible for them. It’s never nice leaving them but I do feel as though they’re in a safe and nurturing environment in their hands and they have a genuine love for the animals. Won’t take my pets anywhere else now I have them registered! Thank you for tKing extra special care of them x
