Highly efficient. Arranged an emergency visit and was seen relatively quickly. Vet wa excellent, thorough and provided enough information for a decision to be made on treatment. Pablo responded well and is no fine. Would recommend to anyone looking for an efficient friendly vet practice

Very kind regarding costs etc but a horrible waiting experience. One lady was 4 hours waiting to see a vet and her dog was critically ill. I understand urgent care dogs were being treated behind the scenes but there was just one vet who every few hours sparingly gave consultations. Rather than give constant excuses about being busy, the issue should be addressed. An out of hours £335 emergency consultation fee should warrant a £335 service when owners are already traumatised by their dogs illness. A huge sense of being abandoned loomed over all the owners as the reception was unmanned. The out of hours service is indicative of bad management. We live in a first world country but the whole of Gloucester and Cheltenham is served by a short staffed and badly organised out of hours vet service? Proactive change is needed. The nurse and vet were kind, helpful and apologetic but nothing consoles a 5 hour (12am to 5am) wait and the sense of abandonment in the waiting room. If a face appeared once an hour, everyone had to fight to get attention or ask questions otherwise they were left with their suffering animal. I knocked on doors and had to keep asking for updates, but even though the lady kept pleading with the nurse, her dog wasn’t seen for so long that she ended up crying and traumatised. Her dog was pooping, and retching with distress - it had a critical condition and needed a drip and injections. The poor thing wasn’t seen by a vet for 4 hours. I pray her dog was ok. Im speaking up because those at the top must obviously have had no interest in improving/ addressing issues so far… I imagine, much to the vets frustration, the nurses frustration, and certainly to the paying customers frustration.

My lively cocker spaniel was unable to walk and had what appears to have been a severe gastro issue. At very short notice we were seen in Cheltenham and bloods, check-up and treatment administered quickly. After 24 hours she came to, though still with very upset stomach, but the intervention was much appreciated on a Sunday morning.

My dog became very unwell in the early hours of Christmas eve. After being dismissed by my regular vets, I contacted Vets Now for help and I'm so thankful they were there for us. Amy was so supportive, caring and kind. She immediately took Teddy and did everything she could to try and save him. She explained everything clearly, including transparency around cost and prognosis. Unfortunately, my lovely boy passed later that morning, but I was comforted to know he was surrounded by kindness when he went. Everything from breaking the news to me, sorting money and the collection of his body was handled with the upmost compassion and respect by Amy, other members of the Vets Now staff via phone and Dragon Vets. Thank you for everything you did to try and save him, we are so grateful.

Vets Now Cheltenham took great care of our cat when she unexpectedly went into acute heart failure over a weekend. They acted quickly and gave her oxygen straight away while we waited for the vet to be available. The vet, despite being the only one on shift, took the time to take a full history and explain the situation to me clearly. The out of hours fee is undeniably ridiculous (the reason I gave 4 stars not 5), but when our furry family members are in trouble it doesn’t matter. What matters is top class care and the team in Cheltenham certainly provide that.
