  We are so incredibly grateful to Pets at Home and Heart for the care and compassion they showed when we had to say goodbye to our beloved Alfie. Being able to have Alfie put to sleep at home, in a place where he felt safe and comfortable, meant everything to us. It made such a heartbreaking moment just that little bit more peaceful, knowing he was surrounded by love in familiar surroundings. Hiram, the vet who came to see us, was truly wonderful. He was so kind, gentle, and respectful throughout the entire process. He took the time to answer all of our questions with patience and understanding, never making us feel rushed, and made sure we fully understood everything that was happening. His calm and compassionate manner brought us a lot of comfort during such an emotional time. He also took care of all the administrative side of things, including arranging Alfie’s cremation with Glasgow Pet Cremations, which lifted a huge weight off our shoulders. It allowed us to focus on saying goodbye without worrying about the practicalities. A week later, we received a lovely card along with some forget-me-not seeds, which was such a thoughtful and touching gesture. It really meant a lot to us and showed how much they truly care beyond the appointment itself. We will always be thankful for the dignity, kindness, and respect they showed Alfie and us. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend their service to anyone facing the same difficult decision.

  I honestly don’t have the words, but I need to say thank you to Hiram from the bottom of my heart. Letting my beautiful boy Rambo go was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do, but you made it as peaceful and gentle as it could possibly be. Rambo was in his own home, in his favourite place, surrounded by the people who loved him most—and that means everything to me. The way you treated him… with such kindness, dignity and genuine love… I’ll never forget it. You didn’t just do your job, you truly cared, and that showed in every moment. You gave Rambo the most calm and loving goodbye, and you gave us the time and space to hold him, talk to him, and tell him how much he meant to us. He wasn’t just a dog—he was my comfort, my strength, my shadow through some of the hardest times in my life. Saying goodbye to him has broken my heart, but I’ll always be grateful that his last moments were filled with love, peace, and no fear. Thank you for giving my boy the goodbye he deserved. I will carry that with me forever 🤍

  Dreaded this day but knew it was best for Bella. Hiram was fantastic, very caring and empathetic. Strange thing was that Bella didn’t like strangers especially men and I was a bit worried about how she would react towards Hiram. She didn’t bark or growl and went to him nuzzled his hands. I was taken aback and also relieved. Everything was so peaceful and I wasn’t left with the images of her shaking anxious like she usually was when taken to the vet. Would recommend this gentle process to anyone who is thinking about loving pets final moments.

  Hiram attended our house yesterday to help our beloved mia cross the rainbow bridge, I would say she had a good death thanks to hirams help. He was professional, empathetic and has a true caring nature toward animals. It was such a relaxed non hurried event and to have your dog pass in the comfort of your own home makes the world of difference to everyone involved, no waiting in waiting room at vets knowing your not going to be walking back out of there with your dog whilst you sit and watch others leave with theirs and No stressed dog. If you get the opportunity to plan your dogs passing I.e not an emergency then seriously consider home euthanasia you won't regret it. Thankyou vets at home and heart for the truly invaluable service you provide at end of life.

  We unfortunately had to make the decision to put our best boy Rocco down as cancer had taken over, even though he was only 5 years old. Hiram was absolutely fantastic and I honestly could not recommend him enough, he made a horrible situation more bearable and the fact our boy got to cross the rainbow bridge while in his favourite spot on the couch was a massive bonus for us. I will be using hiram again without a doubt if/when the time comes for our other dog. Thank you so much again for everything
