  Fantastic service from everyone for our wee dog who needed emergency surgery whilst we were on holiday. Great staff and support before and after. Highly recommend. Our poor wee dog Lara very suddenly overnight became unwell and we felt we needed to seek an emergency appointment with a vet. It's always difficult to find a service that is open on Saturdays, but we were fortunate to find V for Vets were open and had an appointment available with the wonderful Ioannis Kafkias. He thoroughly checked Lara and was guided by us as well because her symptoms were a bit vague - she was definitely a bit uncomfortable and experiencing some pain but there was nothing explicitly evident causing it. Ioannis included us in making decisions about further investigations, and after a scan he discovered internal haemorrhaging from a growth on her spleen. Lara had shown no signs prior to that morning of discomfort or pain, so this was all a bit of a shock to us. Ioannis discussed with us the details of operation required to alleviate her condition, the possible outcomes of the biopsy of the growth should it prove to be malignant and the dangers of the operation itself because of all the blood vessels going into and out of the spleen. This was evidently a very serious operation. Ioannis kept us informed after the operation was completed of how Lara was doing and gave us clear instructions on managing her medication after we had collected her and all the symptoms to look out for that would indicate complications post operatively. We were also reassured that if we did have concerns we could phone and return for an appointment at any time. It's never easy to find a vet to look after you fur family members - but I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending V for Vets to everyone I speak to (in fact, I have been doing so already). From the ease of getting through to an actual human being when you phone up - do not underestimate that process - to meeting the lovely reception staff and all the support veterinary nursing staff who were there to assist in the care of my much loved wee old lady, they were all so very pleasant and kind, such a joy to experience at a time when it can be very stressful for us pet parents. Their pricing is also very competitive and - most importantly - they obviously care about their practice and the patients they work with. We cannot thank them enough for the care and support they provided. If your pet is in need of care whilst you are on holiday or whether you live locally and need a good vet who cares about their work and the patients they work with, I sincerely recommend V for Vets! Update: 12 days later Lara had her stitches out at our wn vets. She has recovered really well and - thankfully - her biopsy was clear, it showed she had a A haematoma arising within complex nodular hyperplasia is typically a benign (non-cancerous) mass of clotted blood within enlarged spleen tissue. In veterinary medicine—where this condition is most commonly diagnosed—these can mimic malignant masses (like hemangiosarcoma) when they rupture and cause internal bleeding. ( Long story short, this means no malignancies, and as the vet noted at the time her liver looked good with no nodules on it). We are so grateful for the timely intervention that we feel undoubtedly saved her life. Thank you, once again, and we highly recommend V for Vets 🤗

  From the moment we walked through the doors of this newly opened practice with our beloved boy, we knew he was in caring hands. We brought our 1year-old house cat in because he was unwell, and what followed was every pet owner’s worst nightmare. The team quickly discovered he had a blockage and needed emergency surgery. Their professionalism, compassion, and genuine love for animals shone through every step of the journey. They kept us informed, reassured us when we were terrified, and treated our little boy as if he were one of their own. Thanks to their incredible skill and dedication, our precious cat came through his surgery and is now on the road to recovery. We honestly cannot put into words how grateful we are. They didn’t just save our cat—they saved a much-loved member of our family. To every member of the team, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for giving us more time with our little boy. Your kindness during one of the most emotional experiences we’ve ever faced will never be forgotten.   I am so glad I found V for vets. It was so easy to transfer my dogs over from my previous vets. One of my dogs has been particularly unwell and has been under the care of Ioannis. He has been absolutely amazing with Libby, I have never met a vet so kind and compassionate, he has explained every step of her treatment and I trust him completely. The reception staff and nurses are all very kind and happy to answer any questions. The building is purpose built with all the facilities need, every time I have been, I have found it spotlessly clean. I believe the prices to be fair and reasonable for the treatment provided and I don’t feel like I’m forced in to things that are necessarily required. I am happy to recommend V vets to anyone and I know my dogs are in good hands. Thank you

  We had our first appointment today with V for Vets, and I genuinely couldn’t be more impressed. Giannis was exceptional — approachable, thorough, calm and incredibly detail-oriented. Jasper received a comprehensive and unhurried health check, including areas that haven’t always been examined elsewhere, which gave me real peace of mind. The 30-minute consultation makes such a difference — nothing felt rushed, and every question was listened to and answered thoughtfully. I was particularly reassured by his knowledge of breed-related conditions in Cavaliers and how clearly he explained Jasper’s diagnosis and management plan. He took the time to go through the medications in detail — what they do, why they are prescribed, and what we might consider longer term. He also printed information for us to take home, which felt above and beyond and incredibly helpful. The reception team were equally welcoming and friendly, and we were kindly shown around the practice. The facilities are truly state-of-the-art, and it’s clear that every detail has been carefully considered to provide the highest standard of care. After some previous mixed experiences elsewhere, it was such a relief to feel completely confident and supported. They were also extremely helpful in registering my licensed dog care business alongside my personal pets, which was handled smoothly and professionally. I would have no hesitation in recommending V for Vets to friends, neighbours and my own clients.
