I bought my 8 week old kitten here for sickness and diarrhoea on the 1st of may, they told me she had a stage 6 heart murmur and told me she was dangerously dehydrated and needed a drip but couldn’t because of her heart, I was told she needed to be put to sleep. I explained she was playing and ok in her self but they tried scaring me into putting her down still. Despite this I was told she would gasp for breath as she gets older and that her heart wouldn’t cope with having a “massive” hole in her heart . I declined and took her for a second opinion at Easipetcare. They said she has a stage 5 heart murmur that will need more monitoring as she gets older but isn’t dehydrated in the slightest and could go years or even her entire life without an issue at all. Today she is absolutely full of life and totally recovered from her bug and putting the weight back on rapidly. ( added pics of her 4 weeks ago and now ) Honestly you may be a charity but this is absolutely terrible. You almost talked me into letting you kill my kitten. People need to get 2nd opinions before trusting Pdsa if your pet is otherwise fine in herself. Seems it’s easier for them to just kill an animal than treat them in my opinion. Definitely won’t be back. You can take me off the list thanks. UPDATE - I got a heart scan for my kitten. I have added the results to this post- Results say she don’t have a massive hole at all like you tried diagnosing. She has a very small hole, and a very good chance of going her entire life with no issues at all, I’m waiting for a phone call from management as I won’t be letting this drop. Update- she’s now 4 months old, it’s been 2 months since your staff advised I put my healthy kitten down! She’s still thriving and loving life. I am also still waiting for that phone call ?? ( updated a pic of her) Update 23/05/2024 Elsa had a heart check up at my vets. Her hole is closing up. Her heart is now down to a stage 2 ! And you still yet to contact me. I will keep updating my reviews until I know you won’t do this to another loved pet ! 7/02/2025 - updated pics - thank god I didn’t listen to your “professionals” Elsa had the go ahead to be spayed as her heart murmur is now completely undetected and closed up, all went well she’s recovering nicely. It’s been 10 days. Elsa is super healthy, extremely happy, and the most loving cat anyone could ever wish for. As Iv proved you was clearly wrong telling me she needed putting to sleep, , 08/11/2025 she is still absolutely fine I noticed you unpublished my review so needed 1 more edit …. This will be the last update. She’s going to live happily for many years to come

I’d like to say a massive thank you to the PDSA Thamesmead team and in particular Nicole for her care for my dog Blu, myself and my family were incredibly worried about him but she really did go above and beyond to get to the bottom of things to make him better! We are so so grateful and so happy to see him now on the mend, and that’s all thanks to you and the incredible work that you do.

Really friendly lovely staff, all the vets are very professional and compassionate, ive been using PDSA for many years and I have always found them to be the best care for my Cats, they are compassionate and caring, will always do they best to treat any animals. I do trust the staff there, I always contribute as much money as possible to this service because without them many many animals will go without care and treatment so this service is very important.
