  Holidaymakers here with our beautiful beloved 6 month old puppy Koda, who unfortunately ate chicken on and including a 2.5inch skewer. After ringing our local vets we contacted the branch here in Barnstaple who recommended Tarka Vets. From our first frantic phone call speaking to Marina, to meeting the staff, they were amazing. Ressuring and telling us the options available and the risk involved. Taking amazing care of our puppy to the reception staff looking after us. The job was done with efficiency and we were kept informed the whole way along with great advice for aftercare. Truly would recommend this vets and if i lived near i would swap our puppy to them for his care. First class all the way and the price was great as well. Highly recommend

  I have a little Chihuahua and it appears he is terrified of the vets! Every appointment I have attended has been handled with the utmost care towards both my lil doggo and myself by every member of staff we have encountered. Today I ordered some some flea stuff by phone. No cost as we are on their pet plan which is really good. Decided to get some indorex too to be on safe side. Got a call back to say it would be cheaper to go to pets at home!! Never have experienced a vet turning away money to make sure their client didnt pay more than was necessary. That meant a lot as I am on a tight budget. So in my experience Tarka vets are kind, compassionate, trustworthy, here for you and you pet first and foremost. Happy to see you get the best deal on treatment, even at their own expense. 100% recommended.

  My dog had 9 teeth extracted. She was well looked after and despite being a nervous dog came back calm and seems to be recovering quickly. Angela, one of the nurses, has offered us owners consistency throughout the process which was great as it’s always very difficult leaving a frightened beloved pet where they don’t want to be! Having the same nurse looking after everything really worked for us. We even got a photo of Skyla after the operation as below! Thank you Tarka Vets!

  Both of my dogs received outstanding care from Tarka Vets, I particularly want to thank Marina for going that extra mile to get me a diagnosis. As we know all vet care is expensive but Tarka Vets made it possible for me to be able to provide my dogs with what they needed. They are by far the kindest vets I have come accross. Highly recommended 😊

  We’ve joined Tarka Vets as our sisters dog Olive ate some grapes and so received emergency treatment. Recently our hamster injured herself. From telephoning, WhatsApp advice and the consultation we have felt very reassured at a time where there were so many unknowns and worry. We were then confident to make decisions about how they could help. My daughter’s hamster was given meds for about a week and her head and eye cuts have healed beautifully and she’s back to her cheeky active self. We can’t thank Freya, Marina and their team enough for genuinely caring for our pets as if they were their own. I totally recommend you visit Tarka Vets if your pet is poorly. Thanks so much.
