  Used this vets since I moved here 12 odd years ago, everything from hamster to dogs. Had some big operations, monthly injectable meds - so I was a frequent user. Until a new lady started. Took my bullbreed in for a consultation as he'd developed a limp. She checked his 3 good legs and backed off checking the bad one - yet still wrote suspected hip dysplasia on his record. I requested xrays and she kept saying people don't normally want these if not needed (baring in mind my dog is lame). I said I want to know if there's an issue. Again she mentioned cancelling if the loxicom kicks in. I said I wouldn't be. Took him in, had a call 3.5 hours later saying they can't shave him. (He has anxiety, but no aggression) Never was I offered medicine, options, asked for consent for a jab - nothing! Just said they can't get the catheter in. So upon collection I asked if I could see a different vet, as I had paid £88 for loxicom and a consult and the injured leg not even assessed and I was asked to change vets due to "lack of trust" in them. I did exactly that, changed vets the same day, without even examing him, the new vet knew it was his knee, had no issues shaving and performing xrays and low and behold - it was his knee and he's booked in for TPLO surgery next week. Yet I was told by Swanspool vets - he's fine now on the loxicom. So yes, leaving a lame dog, not examing properly and not being able to work with a client with an injured animal kind of defeats the point of animal care. Best thing that could have happened was this eye opening change, but hey, it's "because of his breed!"

  Absolutely faultless care and communication from Swanspool staff after my dog needed an emergency operation. Time taken to explain, time taken to provide regular updates during each day and evidence that he was so well looked after. Cannot praise them enough

  Amazing service- sorry didn’t get the name of the lady who attended for emergency visit Monday evening after 8pm to Flynn with an abscess in his hoof. You were amazing - calm and professional. Every experience with this vets is so reassuring - so lucky to have you.

  Our Little Girl... "Purrdy" Cat... Mummies little Angel.... Always by her side.... Even to steal her seat most of the time... Mummy doesn`t mind... Yet these last couple of days an anxious wait for her to fight.... The 'Amazing' Vet Caitlin... Has shown nothing but a wonderful humanity to us in this hour of need... Her care and treatment of Purrdy was to us witnessing it... Endearing... Her compassion attributes and warmth for our little girl wonderful... A massive thank you to her for trying to find a solution.... A battle to the last... Hoping for a wonderful outcome.... Thanks for giving your best Caitlin...   A review to say THANK YOU. This week our puppy Rupert was diagnosed with parvovirus and the care he received with you guys was amazing. The constant updates when he was admitted were so reassuring and even the support we received since he's been discharged too. Rupert's now doing brilliantly. He's eating, playing, drinking and barking!! Just like a normal puppy!
