Absolutely appalling, all they care about is getting as much money as they can off you. Our beautiful dog had to be put down and they sent a sympathy card to my husband who passed 16 years ago. They are really unprofessional and the Receptionists are so rude. Please dont take your animals here.
Read on Google →I thought I' posted a review, but I cant find it. I took my 9 week old kitten in for a check up and the vet noticed he was breathing heavily. Very unempathetically she told me she was cancelling his pet plan because "its a 12 month contract and its pointless paying for something I wont need" - basically gave him a death sentence. Advised I book a scan for £750 with an out of house specialist (through them) I chose to go to another vet in Burnley the day after for a second opinion, oh the receptionist did not like that, she desperately tried to convince me to go in house with another vet - yea, cause that doesnt sond super fishy. Vet at oak mount advised I go ahead with a scan but not nessecarily assume the worst. £750 upfront for a scan, cardiologist rang me sooner then expected and told me it was pneumonia and he wasnt going to charge me the full £750, it was around £369... oh but shuttleworth wouldnt refund, no that money supposedly paid for his morning appointment (signing him in) a further consultation 2 weeks later, antibiotics and blood work... yea, thats pretty steep. I went away, no change on antibiotics, so went back, got different antibiotics, still no change. I spoke to them again and the receptionist initially quoted £1000 for further testing. I decided to see elsewhere what they would do, so I took him to a none profit. The next day tge receptionist called up again very mad at me for wanting his details to be sent elsewhere - the quotation also jumped up to £1500 and I should absolutely keep him with the same vets for his treatment. I went elsewhere anyway cause they had really rubbed me up the wrong way by this point, it just comes across as pure theft. £419 for an x-ray later (oh, im not convinced they sent all his medical records either as there where no scan pictures, just the findings) - it turned out the lack of improvement was due to scarring on his little lungs, the none profit advised I take no further action unless it starts to hinder him. He's now 16 months old, thriving and those little lungs dont hold him back from chaotic zoomies! This place needs seriously investigating by the watchdog if you ask me.
Read on Google →Been taking our dog to Shuttleworths for 3 years now and would recommend. Had lots of visits due to an ongoing chronic condition and have had the best care. We usually see Chelsea who is absolutely fantastic. A genuinely caring, compassionate and knowledgeable vet. Brilliant.
Read on Google →⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Compassionate and Professional Care Shuttleworth Vets were incredibly kind and supportive when my cat became seriously ill. Although we sadly had to say goodbye, the team treated both my cat and me with genuine compassion and dignity throughout. I’ll always be grateful for the care they provided during such a difficult time
Read on Google →Please get a second recommendation before letting this vets kill your dog! This is not my usual vets i visited here as my dog hurt her foot in the area… the vet took a 2 minute look at my dog an told me I had 2 choices pay 8k for an MRI scan or euthanize your dog.. my dog wasn’t in any pain still eating, drinking and doing all the usual.. they offered I pay over £500 to keep my dog sedated to monitor her over night (she wouldn’t of made any difference in her recovery in 24hours) the vet then held my dog until I paid £105 for an injection (asif I was going to run off without paying) the vet told me he had referred another dog this morning got an 8k MRI an one last week an if you don’t have the money then that’s the only option no offer or X-ray etc .. my dog has now fully recovered after around 4 weeks! I’m so glad I didn’t leave my dog with them! Google helped me a lot an I kept her rested with alot of love an she’s now absolutely fine! When I expressed my concern to the manager about the lack of compassion the vet seemed to have dealing with such a serious situation was disgusting! I was asked to leave the vets which I was gladly on my way out anyway .. emotional blackmail at its finest! Go glad I trusted my gut instinct.
