RSPCA Essex Mid & North Branch CIO in Colchester

RSPCA Essex Mid & North Branch CIO operates specifically from Colchester, Essex, serving the CO4 3BZ area. This vital RSPCA branch is dedicated to the welfare of a diverse animal population, providing care for birds, cats, dogs, and small mammals in need within its community. As a charitable organisation, this RSPCA branch stands out through its unwavering commitment to animal rescue and rehabilitation, rather than functioning as a traditional private veterinary surgery. Its focus is entirely on supporting the broader mission of the RSPCA, offering a lifeline to vulnerable creatures through its dedicated services and community engagement. For those needing to contact the branch, particularly regarding fostering or adopting animals, the phone number is 03003230403, and email enquiries can be directed to [email protected]. Specific opening hours for visiting are best confirmed via their general RSPCA website, as they operate from various rehoming centres and not a single veterinary clinic. Parking availability would depend on the specific centre being visited, and accessibility information should also be verified prior to arrival.

I wish I could have left a more positive review. We visited for the first time Friday for my cat following a neurological episode the vet we saw was absolutely lovely and made us feel very at ease. Unfortunately following this today (Monday) another vet from the clinic called me with my cat’s blood results and was the complete opposite as to what we had experienced. She was rude and incredibly pushy on the phone and when I mentioned that I couldn’t afford to pay a whole extra consult to bring her back in for the steroid shot she now wanted her to have after the Fridays visit had already cost me £150 for a consult and blood draw she got snarky. Unfortunately we won’t be going back to this Vetinary clinic which is such a shame but I genuinely would rather shop around for a different vet then be spoken down to like that.

Absolutely amazing everyone who works here goes above and beyond. The main vet is a credit to the rspca, all the women are a credit to rspca.

My partner called after finding what looked like a snake in our living room. The woman who answered was nice and told him to email pictures but they must have misunderstood each other as the email address turned out to be wrong. We tried to call back a few times afterwards and sadly they must have been realy busy because no one answered and after a few minutes we kept being disconnected. Thankfully we decided to call the National Centre for Reptile Welfare who were super helpful. We texted them pics and they identified a harmless slow worm which does look like a snake but is in fact a legless lizard, we learned. Just leaving this here in case someone else faces what seems to be a similar emergency because we were a bit freaked and unsure what to do with no one answering the phones, and it was a relief to get an answer from the NCRW instead.

All for the animals, dedicated staff, better pricing than your local/high Street vets. And the profits go to charity so added bonus for using their services 🐶🐕
