  My local Vet Practice is in Attleborough (Still Paul Jarman), but after my cat bought in a bird, I was told to take the little thing up to Thetford, as there wasn't a vet onsite (it was late in the day, very near closing, so that's fine). When I arrived at the Therford branch and presented the receptionist with that poor little bird, the first thing she did was roll her eyes and sigh in frustration. It was quite clear from the offset, that she didn't care about the bird whatsoever. She was probably more annoyed that it was near closing time and it would delay her getting home (conjecture on my part). The way she spoke to me came across as very callous, rude and dissmisive. I always knew that my visit would likely end with the brid being euthanised, as I was not in a position to care for it myself and my finances are limited (I was prepared for that). But I was totally shocked by the very obvious lack of empathy for this tiny, scared little creature, already injured and pain. As I left, I saw that receptionist leaving her desk with the box I'd tucked that poor litte brid into. She held it with such little care and consideration for the birds comfort that It made my eyes well up. All I could think, was that this poor bird will to be put down, scared, in pain and surrounded by people that potentially just didn't even care. It broke my heart and I have cried all the way home. I would have given 0 stars, but my local Paul Jarman Practice has always been very good and I don't want to leave a review that reflects poorly on the entire business. But that receptionist needs a conversation around conduct. I don't especially like my job either. I also wanted to go home on time and relax at the end of a long, busy day. But I still drove out to Thetford because I cared about the wellbeing of little life. A value tha l do not feel was shared this evening.

  My dog was hurt and terrified by the vet. No compassion. Blamed my dog, and me, by association. Very rough and heartless. She didn't speak one word to reassure him. I won't be going back. Very disappointed as so close to new home and in a lovely setting.

  We are very pleased with Paul Jarman vets, we took our little boy Alfie to them as he hurt his leg and they were very professional and gave us the advice we needed to get him the best treatment

  Left the pratice on the 2nd of Jan as vet manhandled my poorly dog and made him touch avoidant for months. When asked to transfer history to another vet I asked for plans to be cancelled, which they were not. When I called today to ask why they hadn't been cancelled I spoke to the receptionist, they said that they have no record of a request to cancel (it is not rocket science to cancel plans when animals leave the practice for another vet even though I had asked them to). The receptionist continued to be as unhelpful as possible and when I asked for a refund for the last month, she said she would message Paul and it was out of her hands and when I asked when I would be updated about the refund she said it was "not her job" to chase Paul for refunds. Absolute cowboys, rude incompetent receptionists and poor husbandry from vets. Avoid avoid AVOID.

  Took one of my dogs yesterday, who was clearly distressed, the vet examined him, diagnosed his condition and medicated him. Today he is thankfully a lot brighter. I was very impressed with the vet at Kilverston although I still don't know her name. Some of the Receptionists could do with a bit customer service training though. But saying that, I totally recommend this practice.
