We just wanted to write to say a truly heartfelt thank you for the care, compassion and kindness you showed Pumba. The past few days have been incredibly difficult for us as a family, and it is still hard to believe our lovely boy is no longer with us. Knowing that he was in such caring hands while you worked so hard to understand and diagnose such a rare condition brought us a great deal of comfort during such a frightening and uncertain time. Being able to bring him home and spend his final hours together as a family meant the world to us. It allowed us to surround him with love, in the place where he felt happiest, and say goodbye to our beautiful boy properly. That is something we will always be deeply grateful for. Thank you for treating Pumba with such gentleness and dignity, and for keeping us updated and supported through it all. He was so special to us, and it meant so much to know he was being cared for with such compassion. We will miss him more than words can say. With love and heartfelt thanks, Pumba’s family James, Rosie, Tim and Jo and his four-legged friends, Zeus, Diego and Rocco 🐾
Read on Google →I’ve been with New Priory for over 5 years. In that time I’ve seen their service levels and respect for the customers become increasingly poor. My last few experiences have had my poor cat visiting every few months, as they couldn’t find out what was wrong with a recurring skin condition. I also spent a tonne of money on a treatment that turned out to be the incorrect one, and they had the cheek to then make me pay for the right one. Eventually by chance I was given a vet he’d never seen before (Vicky, who seemed knowledgable and confident) and picked up 3 health concerns that no other vet had even noticed, which would cost me £3000. Despite several visits, these basic things hadn’t been spotted by any of the 3 vet’s he’d seen previously. Further to that, their admin is poor and most frustratingly, their communication has become terrible. My main reason for leaving this review is that I contacted them to ask for clarification on an email I received from them. They didn’t respond. I emailed again 4 weeks later with a detailed outline of my experience. I asked for this to be raised as a complaint and to receive a response. 2 months later I forwarded my email to their feedback address and asked if someone could please bother getting back to me. I’m sure you can see where this is going… another 3 months later and no response. I’ve been a loyal customer with my 2 pets for nearly 6 years, and I don’t even warrant a reply to any one of my 3 emails about their poor practice with my cat. If you want to feel genuinely cared about, go to Top Cat. Edit following response from the business: My last visit was in April 2025, I wouldn’t say 9 months ago is a huge amount of time. I first emailed on 7th April. Again on 28th July. Again on 8th August. Again on 25th September. It seems this IT overhaul took 6 months? And despite finding my account, the business have only responded here to save their reputation I suppose. Still no response or an apology to me personally. Beyond disappointing.
Read on Google →Was referred to New Priory by our usual vets for emergency care for our dog. Although the care she received was of an acceptable standard, the issue is that New Priory do not process insurance claims within any reasonable timeframe. It's been two weeks since we visited and still no sign of a claim being submitted to our insurer and no response to multiple e-mails and phone calls on the topic. In the meantime, our vet who we saw earlier the same day submitted the claim within hours of our visit and the claim has been paid out. The summary is that New Priory charge premium prices but provide a sub-par experience. On a related note, the facility itself is old and grubby and dated. When it costs £1,500 for your dog to be in hospital for a less than 6 hours, you really wonder where that money goes, because it's definitely not going to upkeep of the facilities or towards having enough staff to process insurance claims. I will avoid New Priory based on my experience and I would encourage you to do the same. UPDATE AFTER RESPONSE FROM OWNER: 1. You'll note how long it took them to respond to this review (over 4 months). Could not have made my point around the slowness any more clear. 2. Not so much of a mention of the conditions of the facilities. This is NOT a nice place for your pet to spend their final hours (as was the case for ours). The ultra-premium prices do not get you an ultra-premium experience, and there appears to be no desire to acknowledge or address that.
Read on Google →I cannot fault this practice for their consistently kind and compassionate treatment of our elderly dog, Dotty, when she got very sick while we were on holiday in Sussex and after a night of emergency care, had to be euthanized. They have a quiet garden room where they euthanize pets and we were given time to sit with her and say goodbye. All the staff knew what was happening and treated us with so much care and gentle handling. They didn’t know us or Dotty, but they treated her like she was one of the family. We’ve had a fair amount of contact with the office team since then to deal with admin and bills and they’ve been really lovely to work with at such a horrible time. Big thank you to everyone at New Priory, particularly vet Megan, who was our vet the morning we said goodbye to our Dot. She completely understood the situation and was very kind to Dotty and to our family.
Read on Google →I can’t thank these amazing people enough for helping me and my dog Randy after he had an accident where he got hit by a car, he was seen within 10minutes of me phoning up as an emergency. The staff are incredibly helpful and considerate. If there were more stars i would give them more. They helped tremendously and have always been incredible to us. Thank you all!!
