I have been through 19 vets. Including 2 other Medivets. Who I won’t return to, Medivets canvey island is a 45 minute drive for me and worth every minute!! Ian has restored my faith in Verona as a whole! His skill, his care. Is empathy. His ability to take the time and explain all options. To ensure you are included in decisions and understand the decisions I’ve never had before. I had my dog spayed here around 13 years ago with perfection. And moved away. And has a knightmare since. My 16yo girl had a huge tumor. Saw 5 vets who gave grim outcomes and huge quotes. And isn’t discussed 5 options. Clearly. And together we chose surgery. Which went Amazingly. Kacey was at no point distressed. Obviously comfortable and I’ll never go anywhere else. I highly recommend travelling here. Not only was the service outstanding. The procedure faultless. But it was also the cheapest most detailed quote I had.which was a bonus. She’s now got a renewed burst of life. Running up the stairs at her age. Loves her food again.

I’d like to express my sincere appreciation for the receptionist team at the practice. They were absolutely phenomenal from start to finish and supported me through a very stressful time while my dog was unwell. Their kindness, professionalism, and guidance—especially around the insurance claims process—made such a difference. I honestly couldn’t fault them at all - especially Sonya & Natasha 🩷 However, my experience with the veterinary care itself was unfortunately far less positive. I was left feeling disappointed, as I didn’t feel the same level of care or compassion from the vets as I did from the front-of-house staff. The two vets which I saw were quite rude & unhelpful in the situation and it felt like the focus was more on costs than on my dog’s wellbeing, which was very disheartening during such an upsetting situation. For a large vet chain, I expected a higher standard of care and a more pet-centred approach. When talking to one of the vets we asked ‘do you think my dog needs all of this treatment’ as they were talking such a high cost and the response we got back was ‘I don’t know I can’t see inside of him’ - ‘how long is a piece of string’ - this is not something you want to be hearing when you’re dog is really poorly and the main thing you want to do is get him better & you seek advice and guidance in a vet & this is how you’re spoken too. In the end my dog sadly passed away due to an unknown cause as no vets knew or told me exactly what was wrong with him even after I had paid out nearly £3000 & they wanted another £2000 for further investigation and they still couldn’t guarantee that he would get any better - so we were left with only one option. Overall, the reception staff were outstanding, but the veterinary service did not meet my expectations. Especially because this veterinary practice is how much money they can get out of you rather than the care of your pet. I hope this feedback helps prompt improvements in the future.

The staff were really happy and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. The reception staff were polite and professional and paid an interest in my cats when we came in. Getting an appointment for annual boosters was easy, next day appointment. Very reassuring for our 1st visit.

Only downside for me is they’re on Canvey so traffic is awful to get there! I bring my house rabbits here as they have the exotics vets and also use the medivet pet plan for their check ups and vaccinations. The team are all patient, friendly, helpful and very responsive. I’m very impressed by their proactively in checking in with me after appointments as it’s tricky to find the cause of illness with rabbits. They deal with my insurance quickly. Good sized car park too.
