Dear Davide and the entire team at Paragon, I just wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you to everyone who has cared for Betty over the past nine months. From her very first visit following her accident at the beginning of November through to her final operation and check-up on Saturday, the level of care, compassion and professionalism we have received has been nothing short of exceptional. It has been an incredibly stressful and emotional journey for us. Betty has been through so much, from multiple surgeries and weeks of negative pressure treatment to losing a toe, living with an open wound and, finally, having her plate removed. Throughout every stage, we have always felt that she was in the very best hands. Davide, thank you for your skill, patience and honesty. You always took the time to explain everything clearly and made us feel involved and reassured, even when things were uncertain. It was obvious how much you genuinely cared about Betty’s recovery, and that meant the world to us. Please also pass on our thanks to every member of your team. Every receptionist, nurse, veterinary assistant and member of staff we met was kind, friendly and compassionate. Betty was always greeted with such warmth, and we were treated with genuine empathy every time we walked through your doors. It takes a special team to make such a difficult experience feel manageable, and we will always be grateful for everything you have done for our girl. We still have a few weeks of healing ahead, but it finally feels like we’re on the home stretch with all four legs, and we know that is thanks to all of you. Please be proud of the difference you make to both your patients and their families. We certainly won’t forget it. One final thing we’d like to share is that our 11-year-old daughter has been so inspired by everything she has seen over the past nine months that all she has talked about since November is becoming a vet. Watching the care, dedication and compassion your team has shown has had such a positive impact on her, and I think that’s a wonderful testament to the people you are. With our heartfelt thanks, Betty and family xx
Read on Google →There are very few reviews that are easy to write after your dog is diagnosed with a large brain tumour, but this one is. When Miah was referred to Paragon, we met with the neurology team to discuss what we thought would be surgery. After reviewing everything, the neurosurgeon could quite easily have proceeded with an MRI and an operation. Instead, they did something that showed enormous professionalism and integrity. They told us that whilst surgery was technically possible, they didn't believe it offered Miah the best long-term outcome. That conversation completely changed the direction of her treatment. Rather than recommending the treatment they could provide, they recommended the treatment they genuinely believed was best for our dog. That honesty takes courage, and we will always be grateful for it. At every stage we were treated with compassion, patience and complete openness. Every question was answered thoroughly, every option explained honestly, and at no point did we ever feel rushed or pressured into making a decision. We left understanding exactly where we stood, what the risks were, and why referral for specialist radiotherapy in Edinburgh offered Miah the greatest opportunity. Looking back now, we cannot thank the team enough for helping us make one of the hardest decisions we've ever had to make. Medicine isn't just about technical skill. It's about knowing when another option offers your patient the greatest chance. That is exactly what Paragon did for Miah. Thank you for putting her welfare ahead of everything else. Ian, Samantha & Miah ❤️🐾
Read on Google →Our little willow was referred to Paragon by our vet. She was seen within days and operated on the following day. The staff, nurses and veterinary surgeons were all fantastic. I couldn't recommend them any more highly. Thank you so much.
Read on Google →My 1 year old frenchie required BOAS surgery and after reaching out on a BOAS support page for recommendations Paragon came up as a great referral. After doing some research online against some other recommendations I decided to go ahead with Paragon. Their referrals are good but also their clear pricing on the procedure which was actually cheaper than my regular vet quoted but was actually done by specialists. All money was discussed prior and they deal direct with the insurer to take away the stress of that side of things. We went in for a consultation prior to leaving him for surgery where everything was discussed in detail of what would happen and was advised to let him off lead to have a sniffs round and relax him. They wouldn’t know till he was under what procedures he required and that was made clear, and whatever he needed would be done. Then I was reassured how often updates would be given, was able to ask questions and discuss his personality a bit to ensure he was comfortable while there. Later that day I had the call everything was done and it went well and all the things he needed that were done. What I liked is that they keep them in ICU over night to ensure that there is no excessive swelling and airway obstruction prior to sending home. Next day I picked him up and they went through recovery and how he had got on the night before, anything to watch out for, a paper with what he had done, meds to give and numbers to call at any time in case of any issues or concerns. He’s 5 days post op and doing well. It’s definitely a hard recovery with being sick, regurge and reverse sneezing. He didn’t want to eat the first couple of days but managed to get bits down him. All the staff were so lovely and reassuring and you could tell they really wanted the best for your pet. He got lots of praise and cuddles while there. He can let it be known when he’s not happy with a grumble which they advised he did a couple of times but was happy when he had his door open which means they were definitely trying to keep him as happy as possible and listening to him. Would recommend anyone thinking of trusting them with their pet, we’ve had a great experience!
Read on Google →I highly recommend Paragon as i had the most outstanding service given. As it was a difficult and scary time being a first time dog owner finding out my puppy had a PDA. We was quickly referred from our vets to Paragon , i couldn’t be more thankful for all the team and Chris Linney for there service and care all the way from walking through the door to picking up my Rue after her surgery. Making me feel at ease , assured , calm and positive about my puppy needing heart surgery. I am entirely grateful for Paragon , Chris and the team all the best from Lois and Rue.
