Very disappointed with the Irvine branch I took my sick cat there and they found a lump. They said the only staff member who can work the scanner was absent so I was to be referred to a place in Glasgow that wanted to charge me over £8000 for tests and then surgery this would take me over my insurance limit. I went to mbm and they did the whole procedure for £800 it turned out my cat couldn’t be cured and was put to sleep. This was extremely stressful and upsetting and could have been even worse if my insurance couldn’t cover it. Absolutely awful. The next visit there was an emergency in and I had to wait over half an hour and was told this was just the way of it if there is an emergency surely there should be enough staff on to cover this? Eventually I asked if anyone could see me so nurse took me then told me she couldn’t do it because they made a mistake it was a vaccination booster my cat needed and it had to be a vet so I had no option but to make another appointment because I would be late for my work. I left feeling very annoyed and yes it’s terrible there was an emergency but it was a poor show not having the staff to cover it and the customer is left being made to feel bad about it and made to sit there and be corrected about how long I could have been sitting it could have been 45 minutes to an hour. The reception said it was only 24 minutes but it ended up being 33 and would have been much longer if I had just put up with it. So it seems we are just expected to put up with lack of staff and no phone call to say there was an emergency in to save me a wasted journey! Absolutely ridiculous

This was my vets. They are the epitome of everything wrong with UK Vets and the issues reported on ITN News. Secretive and non-transparent. Refused to disclose pricing for medication, prescriptions or monthly injections which I needed to put my dog back on thr treatment I took him off 2 years ago but they could charge me £66 for a consultation. I don't want a consultation until I'm ready for an informed discussion!!!! Don't go near them is my advice.

This isn’t our regular vets, we were in Kilwinning visiting family and our dog needed to be seen. From the moment I called to get an appointment to our being seen, the service was amazing and very friendly. Would highly recommend!

A few weeks ago I had say goodbye to my beloved border collie Millie. I can't thank all the staff to make her crossing the rainbow bridge that little bit easier, they explained the process, gave us some time to say our goodbyes and said "Take as long as you want/need" Given time, we will get another border collie but when that time does come I will haven no doubt we will return to Ivybank vets when I need help or advise.
