Took my 12 year old Shih Tsu to the Walton branch, after his back dew claw literally swelled up overnight. Initially, it was thought he'd caught it on something and had a course of antibiotics. After a week it had reduced in size, but I was recommended to have it surgically removed ( including digit amputation), to prevent any infection spreading. I booked him in at the Clacton branch and the surgery was successful. Biopsy results were that it was a malignant tumour, and they were able to completely remove it. Everybody who I have dealt with, receptionists, nurses, and the vet's, have been fantastic... kind, compassionate, good communication, and give you the time of day. Apart from an upset tummy (anaesthetic and meds), my best friend is recovering well at home. Having had several dogs over the years, this is the first time, where my dog has actually walked into the treatment room without trying to go in the opposite direction! I'm so glad that I have insurance cover, & Haven are dealing with that for me, aswell. I would highly recommend them.

Excellent clinic. My Benji was diagnosed with a form of skin cancer on Thursday and he was operated today (Monday) . A laborious operation done by Dr Niel Smith , successfully. I am very grateful. As a human GP myself, I wish we could be able to offer such a quality service to our patients in NHS. Congratulations to the entire team for everything they do for our little friends, family members .

Really good service for our very nervous and reactive dog.We were offered an evening visit (quieter)and the vet came into the car park to examine him! Ended up with him wandering round the surgery, having treats. Thank you for such a good experience.

We’ve been taking our dog to Haven vets for over a year now and can’t rave about them enough! Our rescue dog is incredibly nervous and the whole team (both Frinton and Clacton) are always so accommodating and reassuring. Evie has got to know our dog well and has been amazing being able to treat him without restraint and with minimal stress – for a dog doesn’t like people or being touched, it’s incredible to see! Leanne has also been so great with him, especially managing to squeeze him in when we’ve left his vaccinations to the last minute! Thanks so much to the whole team :)
