Thurston vets were nothing short of kind & compassionate when recently having to say goodbye to my guinea pig Basil. Today even receiving a sympathy card in the post, they have gone above and beyond at such a sad time. Thankyou for making it as easy as possible and especially to the vet (sorry I can’t remember her name!) to help my near 2 year old boy say his goodbye.

Thurston Vets I had to take my poorly 15 and a half year old dog in for severe pain and other age related issues, this was our second visit, having already discussed his quality of life and options available to us on the first. My wife and I had already agreed a cause of action for him, depending on how the consultation went. Unfortunately we had to make the hard decision to put our beloved pets best interests first, there was no pressure from the team here, it was our decision. The staff were all excellent in the help and support they gave me, from the vet, the nurse and receptionist. I elected to stay with my pet and hold him, looking into his eyes as he slipped away, the last look was as if to say, thanks dad, the pain is gone, love you. Once again, thank you so much to all the staff for the fantastic support at a hard and emotional time.

we were on a trip away. when puszek hurt his paw on the grass. we found this vet Haughley & Thurston. the vet checked puszek over and said he could have stepped on a wasp or a bee as she could not find anything else wrong with his paw so she gave him pain killer injection. now he's much better. and walking we were so very happy with the great help they gave us. A Big thank you all who Helped Pusezk on the 11th July 2025.

I consider Thurston Vets to be extremely efficient. Yesterday we had to make an appointment as our German Shepard was extremely unwell, her condition came on very suddenly and while we had our suspicions, due to her age felt sure it may be suggested that we have her put to sleep. However, the vet we saw explained that with medication and an ongoing treatment plan her condition would improve. We cannot thank Thurston Vets enough. The staff are pleasant and go out of their way to do their very best for your pet. A well deserved 5 stars!!

I usually use the Haughley branch as it's closer to me, but having had a sudden need for a vet visit for one of my cats who was very poorly, they luckily were able to fit us in. The vet and the nurse who saw him were very friendly and understanding, they treated him with kindness and patience, even helping us by giving him the first dose of medication which just gave us absolute peace of mind. I felt they genuinely cared about him, rather than just treating him like a client, as previous vets have done. I will always recommend Haughley/Thurston to vets to anyone who is looking for a vet recommendation.
