DO NOT join this place. They only have 1 vet, AND last year they didn't have any vets!! When the 1 vet is off sick, there is no one in scarborough to see your pet. They cancel your appointment even if it is dying, and you are expected to travel half an hour to bridlington to be seen by their back up vet. ABSOLUTE WASTE OF TIME !!!

JOAO ALVES REVIEW.❤️❤️❤️ This review is for our fantastic vet Mr.Joao Alves, who sadly was recently forced to resign. Since his departure the CARE from companion care vets has gone. Joao was a gentle and kind man with a genuine passion for helping animals, and their owners . It is due to Joao that two of our cats are still alive. We have missed you terribly! We are so sorry for what has happened to you this year, and although we have been unable to give you any support at a time when you really needed it. We have remained loyal to you and left companion vets. I hope you read this, and know the following : You are important :You are greatly missed :You made a huge difference We wish that you are treated much better in the future, you deserve so much more than what you have just received. Such unfairness and sadness. Our little family send you lots of love. Willow (biggie) ❤️ Luna ❤️ And slim Jim Olive ❤️

Prefer to award No Stars. Today Wed 19/06/24 I have cancelled the ‘Health Plan’ for all 3 of our elderly dogs. This Pets at Home / Companion Care / Vets 4 Pets is little more than a Corporate Business. The company have ‘removed’ the wonderful vet Joao Alves on 20/02/24, not a single word has been conveyed to us the regular customers. Often no locum vet is available.! On Tuesday 18 th June our oldest dog aged 17 needed potentially life saving vet care due to her rapidly deteriorating condition. At 14.20 hrs I called the vet practice and I was informed that no appointment is available. I went in person to the vet practice to discuss with the vet , and It was noticeable that there was not one client or ‘patient’ in the waiting area nor in the 2 consultation rooms. I had left my little sick dog in the car waited when asked to do so outside the consulting room and then I heard voices and realized there was not a pet in there , I knocked & opened the door, The vet, the veterinary nurse, and the healthcare assistant were student front of the computer screen. I was given no advice for guidance about my dog and when I became angry and said that this is totally unacceptable considering we’ve been registered with the practice since 2015 Suddenly I was Informed that this locum vet is not refusing to see my dog, BUT they will provide an Emergency - out of hours appointment at an extra cost .!!! The so called Health Plan 2 appointments with vet & also vet nurse appointments are null & void.! Till now we the customers have not been informed that the Corporate Company have ‘removed ‘ our vet Practice vet Joao Alves who has been the in- house vet / venture partner vet since we joined the practice in ‘Sept ‘15. We have received exemplary service from Joao and the Team at the practice since ‘15. Now when faced with an emergency my little dog has been let down. The so called ‘Health Plan’ has totally failed our little dog in her hour of need. She is an elderly Cairn Terrier has never had health issues , the fact is that our Vet Joao Alves would certainly have provided her an urgent consultation and respected the fact that she has 2 un used appointments available according to the Health Plan. The cruelty meted out to our little dog and the cruelty to myself in this emergency situation is immeasurable , and it is unconscionable. This Corporate Business is similar to those Water Companies whose only concern is profit profit profit. Disgusted , totally disgusted. Our 3 dogs are now registered with another Independent Vet practice in Scarborough Little 17 year old Cairn has received treatment today from an excellent lady vet AND no emergency extra charge. The standard vet consultation charge at this vet practice approx 1 mile distance, is substantially lower than at Pets at Home BUT It’s not only about cost The veterinary care provided todaywas second to none. It is an independent practice. I shall avoid Corporate Vet Businesses in future. Bad for partner Vets Bad for our Pets Bad for us the paying clients.

Companion care vets always have delivered the best care to my dogs. We have been with them since December 2017 and have always been open and honest with costs, fees, treatment options. John is an amazing vet and the nurses provide so much care and love to the animals as well. I can't recommend them enough.
