  Long term customer across 3 dogs including help and support during the trauma of my Beagle/Springer rescue Boo developing an aggressive form of Epilepsy at 13 years-old and ultimately having to say goodbye to him. Overdue a visit with my current Beagle rescue Reo to get his Vaccinations updated as soon as money allows. :O

  ***in response to your reply I can’t leave your response unchallenged because there are a number of things in it that are simply not accurate. The statement that Match’s bleeding was “not critical” is not what I was told on the day. I was told by your team that he was bleeding heavily from both his mouth and nose, that he would not survive, and that I had to make a decision there and then about putting him to sleep. So to now say publicly that the bleeding was not critical does not reflect what happened or what I was told. You also haven’t addressed one of my main concerns. In March, I brought Match to your practice because I was worried about his mouth. I was reassured it was nothing more serious and given antibiotics, I said do whatever you can to help scans anything you need, and then only a few months later I was being told he had an inoperable bone tumour. That is a huge part of why I was so upset, and your response completely avoids that. You also describe Match as “aggressive”, which I do not accept. Match was distressed at the vets, yes, but he was not an aggressive dog. There is a big difference. I also do not agree with your version of how I was told what was happening. I was told about Match’s prognosis outside the practice, in a public area, which was deeply upsetting and offered no privacy at all. I also have two witnesses who were there and experienced it exactly as I have described. Since moving to another vet, the difference in care has been night and day. My dogs have actually been properly examined, diagnosed and treated, rather than being given antibiotics over and over again. I am also allowed to stay with them while they are seen by the vet, which has given me far more confidence in the care they are receiving. My review was an honest account of what happened to me and Match on a traumatic day, and I stand by it. What I find really disappointing is that it has taken over a year for you to reply to my review, and even then, the response is focused on arguing with my experience rather than showing any real empathy for what happened. That says a lot, and it only reinforces why I felt the need to leave the review in the first place. My review was never written to start an argument. It was written because it reflects my experience. If your intention genuinely isn’t to argue this publicly, then I won’t be engaging in any further public discussion on the matter. ***original post***I had a dreadful experience with my 16-year-old Lhasa Apso. He had been visiting this clinic for several years and developed a bleeding issue in his mouth. I brought him down to be told it was his teeth and it’s a non emergency so we scheduled it an extraction for a few days. The following day, the bleeding returned. Peter, seemed very hesitant to take him in again, even saying, “he won’t bleed out like” as he brought my dog in that morning. I called at 2 PM as instructed, and they assured me everything was fine, telling me to pick him up at 6:30 PM. When I arrived, I was met by the veterinarian who informed me there was nothing more they could do, right in the middle of the shopping center, without any privacy. Honestly, this was the worst experience I have ever had. Their approach to the situation was shocking; they were clueless about what had happened to my dog and their lack of compassion in handling it was horrendous. They had to call the main vet from another location, meaning they already knew what was going to happen before 6:30 PM. When we were finally taken into the room, just moments after my dog had been given the injection , a staff member came in to discuss the costs of cremation and showed me various urns also incorrectly stating he was 15 and a Shitzu. It was unbearable; while saying goodbye is never easy, this was far from what I had expected. After visiting other local vets, the contrast is striking. Take care of your furry friend and steer clear of this veterinary clinic.

  Absolutely horrific experience. My dog was dragged forcefully into the room without me. I had no choice but to talk about his health issues in front of everybody in the waiting room . After their 'head to toe' check up they didn't notice lumps on his belly that are sticking out neither his front teeth which are hanging on a tread. Say well out from the 'care' like this. Nothing was resolved because the practice didn’t respond to multiple attempts of communication, they ignored complaints submitted via email and online form and only really responded when mediation service got involved. And even then they wrote a dismissive letter. Absolutely atrocious service and attitude of the manager!

  We had a positive day with our dog here, we recently visited another vet who is mentioned in some negative reviews for here but our dogs behaviour there was very unusual, compared to his good behaviour here at city vets. We wanted to change vets due to peoples opinions on this vets and some negative reviews we have seen, but until something happens to us personally.. we wont try change again. I have experienced both vets and my preference is here. Here at city vets each staff member talked to our dog in a calming, friendly manner, even the receptionist did. He was nervous about going into the room with the vet but they didn’t force him into it and the vet actually came out to him. Communication is important for the owners but it is just as important for the animal who's seeking treatment (no one spoke to our dog in the other vets) The staff’s attitude here really made a difference for our dogs experience, well so I believe. On our first visit here a year ago we weren't as keen, I do think it depends on the vet you get that day, but thats a more personal thing and nothing to do with professionalism. Other than that, they get the job done.
