We got referred here at 8pm last Thursday from our own Vet in Falkirk and our wee daschund was seen at 10am Friday morning. Rapidly progressing Grade 4 IVDD! Our wee guy was in surgery the same day, spine surgery, sorted and home on the Sunday afternoon and is healing up perfectly at home with us. Advice and care from the neurologist vets were amazing, all questions answered, all medications given and instructions to follow at home to help our boy get better 💙🐾 Cant thank everyone enough at Glasgow Small Animal Hospital - You saved my boy 💕🐾💙 We will see you soon for Obis follow up appointment 💙😊

Our 9 week old puppy was recently rushed here in an emergency, the staff were so unbelievably kind and caring. They kept us up to date constantly and saved my puppy’s life. We will be eternally grateful for the vets and nurses.

I visit here at least once per year with my kitty, Maggie, and now also my older girl, Tonks. We always receive excellent care and the staff here are very caring and responsive. Dr Gemma Sala is our cardiologist and we absolutely cannot fault her care, experience, and the attention she pays to our cats. From the staff on reception, to Gemma, to the accounts, we are always treated with dignity and respect, and our kitties always have the best experience the can considering how stressful it is to be outside of their normal environment.

Lack of transparency, high-pressure tactics, and poor communication—proceed with caution I am writing this to warn other pet owners about my recent, deeply disappointing experience at the University of Glasgow Small Animal Hospital. My dog was referred here by the PDSA, and I left feeling exploited, confused, and incredibly stressed. First, there was a total lack of transparency regarding costs. After a consultation that lasted only 20 minutes, I was charged £553. I was given no warning of this fee beforehand. To make matters worse, I was then pushed into agreeing to further diagnostic tests costing £2,500. This felt like an aggressive, high-pressure sales tactic, showing little regard for me as a pet owner in a vulnerable position. When I expressed concern, I was bluntly told that even if I declined the tests, I was still obligated to pay the exorbitant consultation fee regardless. Furthermore, I found the communication to be completely inadequate. The consultant I dealt with was extremely difficult to understand, which made it impossible to get clear answers about my dog’s condition or to feel confident in the necessity of the procedures they were demanding. When you are paying these kinds of prices, you expect the medical team to be able to communicate effectively. I feel that transparency, ethics, and basic professional standards were entirely absent from this appointment. I would strongly advise anyone referred here to demand a full written quote for all consultations and any proposed treatments before you even enter the building. My experience here has been one of the most discouraging encounters I have ever had. The focus seemed to be entirely on generating revenue rather than providing compassionate, understandable, and necessary care for my pet. Only credit card copy not even a proper bill.

My beautiful baby young lab was cared for wonderfully from beginning to end by a truly wonderful internal medicine vet called Anais. Not only is she a truly wonderful specialist, she's also a beautiful human being. I met quite a lot of staff during my girl's treatment and I can only thank every single one of them. Friendly, caring, understanding and professional. This facility is a truly wonderful place if your babies are ever referred here. I'm at a loss as how to thank every single one of them. Especially Anais for nothing but the love and care they showed Bella and me throughout her treatment and hospital admissions.
