I haven't been with the practice for long, but I've had quite a lot of contact in a relatively short period of time! All conditions unrelated in my 19 yr old TB - from routine vax & dental, to acute issues like mud fever, strained hock tendons and sore eyes! I've seen a few of the vets for different concerns - all lovely and resolving issues quickly. I've had most contact with Alex who's been excellent providing on site support when called out, and also some advice remotely over the phone (which is hugely appreciated) for quick reassurance and instruction. The office have also been helpful (and speedy) with requests for meds being made up, and prescriptions written. Thank you Stable Close Equine!

Had the lovely Bridie visit my horse today for his annual vaccinations. We are new to this vets due to moving out of catchment for our old ones and I’m very impressed. Easy to contact, on time and lovely people. Thank you.

  • Absolutely brilliant practice! From the office staff through to the excellent team of vets on the road. We have used Stable Close Equine Practice from the first day, more years than I can remember, and would never use anyone else unless recommended by them. Complete support and understanding and the combined knowledge and experience is incredible.

Having been a Stable Close client for the past 11 years and over that time they've consistently provided excellent care and support for my horses. Their professionalism, knowledge and genuine compassion have always stood out. But I wanted to take a moment to especially recognise Archie, who recently supported me through one of the most difficult moments of my life as a horse owner. My beloved Leo suffered a sudden and severe bout of colic, and despite every effort, I had to make the heart breaking decision to let him go. Archie was there every step of the way, showing such kindness, empathy, and calm in incredibly distressing circumstances. I will never forget how gentle and respectfully he handled both Leo and me during those final moments. In the weeks that followed, Archie continued to support me - especially as I navigated the complexities of dealing with my insurance company. When questions were raised by the insurer, Archie reassured me that I had made the right and most humane decision for Leo, which gave me the peace of mind I desperately needed. I am so grateful to Archie and the whole team. Thank you for your compassion, your care, and for being such a trusted part of Leo's life - and mine!

Stable Close have been the most amazing vets giving exceptional care of my horses over the years. From routine appointments to unexpected health concerns, their professionalism and dedication has been brilliant. All the vets are approachable, caring and happy to go the extra mile. Vicky in particular was so kind and understanding when making the incredibly difficult session to have my much loved pony put to sleep. Thank you to all of the vets for their ongoing care, I would recommend them to anyone looking for quality care of their horses!
