Have used the St George's practice in the centre of the city for a number of issues and have been pleased with the professionalism shown every time. My most recent visit was with one of our Frenchies who was suddenly trembling and was reluctant about moving around and going up the doorstep. After a thorough examination the vet identified a problem with one of her vertebrae. He explained clearly about the nature of the problem and the need for crate rest and NSAID medication so that the disc cartilage can heal.
Read on Google →Been taking my pets here for years but unfortunatly, last few years prices are going up, took my cat for a consultation £65 consultation fee, admitted the vet was really good and endevored to do what she could to keep the cost down, finding out after blood test to confirm she had thyroid issues i was told my cat hadn't got a uti after a urine sample .she was urinating a lot, passing blood and clots .Told it wasnt a uti and was given meds to calm inflammation down, and it worked then the problem arouse again, urinating blood and clots of blood, was advised to take a urine sample and told to take her up, after examination again told she hadn't got Uti and wouldnt find anything in the urine sample if it was sent away the vet didn't offer to dip the sample, to confirm this, just repeat the meds prescibed before, if the sample was sent off it would be £85 pounds and they wouldnt find an infection, and confirmed what previous vet said i know this medication can only be taken for a few days (not that you have much choice you only get about 1ml of medication ) and pay a fortune for it ..weeks for it ) weeks later she started urinating exact same as before blood urinating everywhere, i gave her some of the meds to calm it down, after day 1 phoned up to see if i could get more meds as a stand by for flare ups just to nip it in the bud, As day 2 it stopped , this would have been 3rd time i would have taken her up exact same problem same symptoms just to be told the same thing, No have to take her up or pay for a urine dip at about £35 pounds . Before they would issue any more meds ..or take her up again to see yet another vet because you never see same vet twice and that doesn't help, to pay for yet another consultation ..whats going to have changed in a few weeks! and why couldnt they have dipped it last time i took her this would have. confirmed it, and then when she would have either had the right treatment in the first place, Its all about how much money they can get out of you, not about keeping pet comfortable, no wonder people cant afford to keep their animals when they are allowed to charge ridiclous amounts for medication I know all vets are expensive but to keep charging consultation fees over and over for the exact same problem you have been up with already thats just money making, told by the receptionist its the same as humans the meds might have stopped working, they havent stopped, they work its calms her down after a day or two, just wanted a larger bottle, for as and when. But they want to fleece you for more money. Time to look for another vets
Read on Google →Went to see the vet this morning regarding Reggies back leg giving her some bother and the vet gave her an injection, touch wood its working ! Bit expensive but if it makes reggie happy i dont care about the price! Staff were amazing and polite per usual! Definitely recommend
Read on Google →All the staff, including receptionists, vets, and nurses, have been amazing with my cat Nancy. She's been really poorly and still not completely better but on the road to recovery with the help of everyone at St Georges.. Thank you.
Read on Google →My little cat was referred here from her regular vets (Carmel), as she needed some teeth out and they are short staffed and had various other issues. Treatment was delivered in two parts, with the first being more diagnostic (x-rays / scale and polish) a few weeks ago and the second for the removal of the teeth completed yesterday (10th June). Yesterday, in particular, all the staff were amazing and exceeded all of my expectations. The nurse that checked her in and the vet carrying out the procedure (sorry I don’t know their names) were so caring and provided me with lots of information and reassurance. They saw her earlier than I had anticipated which was very welcome. They kept me informed at every stage of the procedure. Brilliant service. Thank you.
